To strengthen our Procurement team in Lelystad, we are looking for a:
Job Purpose | Procurement Officer - IMRES (Netherlands)
As a Procurement Officer, you play a vital role in ensuring the timely availability of medicines and medical devices for our international customers. You will build and maintain relationships with suppliers worldwide, coordinate purchasing activities across departments, and contribute to a reliable and efficient supply chain.
You will join a team of five procurement professionals and work closely with colleagues from Sales, Import, Export, Quality and Operations.
This is a dynamic position with a combination of operational purchasing, supplier management, market intelligence, and international sourcing.
What you will do
Procurement & Supplier Management
- Source medicines and medical products from approved suppliers worldwide;
- Create and manage purchase orders in line with internal procedures;
- Monitor order progress and ensure timely delivery of products;
- Maintain daily contact with suppliers regarding lead times, availability, pricing and documentation;
- Resolve supply issues proactively and identify alternative sourcing opportunities when needed;
- Support supplier onboarding and vendor qualification processes.
Coordination & Compliance
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Export and Quality teams to ensure smooth order fulfilment;
- Maintain accurate pricing information within internal systems;
- Ensure all required product documentation is available and compliant with company requirements;
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within procurement processes.
Strategic Sourcing
- Identify and evaluate new suppliers and sourcing opportunities;
- Participate in supplier visits and industry trade fairs in Europe and internationally;
- Monitor market developments and contribute to sourcing strategies together with the Team Lead Procurement.
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree (HBO) or equivalent level of working and thinking;
- Experience in purchasing, procurement or supply chain management;
- Experience working with international suppliers;
- Professional proficiency in English;
- Strong communication and relationship management skills;
- Commercial awareness combined with a solution-oriented mindset;
- Good analytical and organisational skills;
- Experience with Microsoft Office; knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX is a plus;
- Experience with pharmaceutical, medical or healthcare-related products is an advantage.
