Join us in shaping one of Europe’s most exciting greenfield energy projects. You will contribute to building the first plant in Europe dedicated solely to the production of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and its by-products. Become part of a driven, high‑performance team of change makers where your expertise directly influences the safe, timely, and successful delivery of the DSL-01 project.
As QHSES Support Officer, you will play a key role in establishing the foundations for safe, compliant, and sustainable operations at DSL-01. This is a unique opportunity to join the project during its development phase and help build the Quality, Health, Safety, Environment and Social (QHSES) framework that will support the future operation of one of Europe's most ambitious renewable fuels projects.
DSL-01 is moving from project execution towards operational readiness. To ensure a safe start-up and successful long-term operations, all required QHSES processes, procedures, systems, and tools must be developed, implemented, and embedded within the organization. This role is critical in supporting compliance with regulatory requirements, environmental permits, ISO certification standards, and company policies.
QHSES management system & compliance: Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the DSL-01 Integrated Management System while ensuring compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Permitting & regulatory support: Contribute to environmental permitting activities by supporting permit applications, permit modifications, compliance monitoring, and the maintenance of regulatory registers, including REACH requirements.
Risk management & assurance: Support risk assessments, maintain compliance and risk registers, coordinate audits and inspections, and assist with incident investigations to strengthen operational safety and risk management.
Documentation, training & operational readiness: Develop and maintain QHSES procedures, work instructions, training requirements, and supporting documentation to ensure the organization is prepared for safe and compliant operations.
Stakeholder & project support: Act as a key link between corporate QHSES functions and the DSL-01 project team, supporting certification activities, occupational health programs, and the successful implementation of QHSES initiatives across the organization.
As a growing company in a rapidly evolving industry, we are looking for people who embrace change and are motivated to actively contribute to building and scaling our business. SkyNRG is constructing a frontrunning renewable fuels facility in Delfzijl, Netherlands, called “DSL-01”. The facility will use the Hydrotreated Esters and Fatty Acids (HEFA) pathway to convert residual fats and greases into Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Other renewable products, such as butane, propane and naphtha, will be formed as by-products.
DSL-01 is the first facility in Europe dedicated entirely to SAF and its by-products. Once operational, it will produce 100,000 tonnes of SAF and 35,000 tonnes of sustainable by-products per year, cutting greenhouse gas emissions by around 80% compared to conventional jet fuel.
Construction started in 2026, with first fuel expected in 2028. The project includes the main facility, pipelines, and temporary work areas. At DSL-01, you will be part of a team building a state-of-the-art industrial plant from the ground up, contributing to a more sustainable energy future.
Environmental and social responsibility are at the heart of DSL-01. We follow international frameworks and Dutch regulations to manage impacts on people, nature, and local communities. Safety, sustainability, and collaboration guide everything we do.
Since 2009, SkyNRG has been a change maker in the aviation industry. We are dedicated to supplying and producing high-integrity Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), making sustainable aviation a reality. Collaboration is fundamental to achieving our ambition. We nurture genuine relationships with global partners in our drive to make SAF the alternative to fossil jet fuel.
Our in-house team of SAF experts have helped over 60 airlines and corporates reduce their climate impact using the Book & Claim mechanism; the most transparent and traceable way to support aviation sustainability with real emission reductions.
Sustainability is woven into the fabric of our company. We maintain an independent Sustainability Board, which advises the company on feedstocks and provides strategic guidance on wide-ranging sustainability issues. SkyNRG operations are certified against the RSB EU RED, CORSIA, and Book & Claim standards.
