We are looking for an intern to support the Corporate Real Estate Services (CRES) Netherlands team in strengthening and standardizing how physical security is implemented across our sites. In this role, you will help translate Group Security policies and standards into practical playbooks, guidelines, and operational processes. You will contribute to risk assessments, support local and regional initiatives, and assist with day-to-day security tasks.
This internship offers hands-on experience in a complex international environment, working with stakeholders such as site managers, workplace services, project managers, and EHS colleagues—while learning how security governance and operational execution work in practice.
Your work will combine program development, documentation, implementation support, and operational assistance.
1) Playbooks, guidelines & process documentation (core)
- Draft and improve practical playbooks and how-to guidelines that help sites implement physical security requirements consistently (e.g., access control/PACS, CCTV, incident response, security awareness at site level).
- Create and maintain process documents, checklists, templates and toolkits (e.g., site assessment templates, evidence checklists and excels).
- Develop clear PowerPoint decks to communicate guidance to stakeholders (local site teams, EHS, regional stakeholders).
- Support harmonization of existing documents (e.g., architecture guidance, security design guidelines) into simplified and usable materials.
2) Policy implementation
- Assist with translating Group Security requirements into local/regional implementation actions and supporting documentation.
3) Risk assessment
- Support basic site security risk assessments (e.g., gathering information, documenting findings, supporting risk registers and mitigation tracking).
- Assist in analyzing recurring themes from incidents or assessment results and proposing practical improvements.
- Contribute to initiatives that improve standardization, maturity, and effectiveness of security controls across sites.
4) Operational support (day-to-day)
- Support day-to-day physical security tasks, including preparing communications (e.g. security awareness messages).
- Participate in relevant meetings with local (Netherlands) and European stakeholders and capture actions/decisions.
