As Internal Communications Manager – Water & Maritime, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering the internal communications strategy for one of Haskoning's largest and most internationally connected business lines, with over 2,000 colleagues. Working closely with the Business Line Director and Management Team members, you will help connect colleagues to our strategy, support business priorities, celebrate achievements and strengthen engagement across the business line.
As part of the Marketing & Growth team, you will combine strategic internal communication planning with hands-on delivery, ensuring employees are informed, engaged and connected through effective communications, events and leadership engagement initiatives.
As Internal Communications Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of the internal communications strategy for the Water & Maritime business line. You will work closely with business leaders, strategic leads and subject matter experts to translate key priorities and initiatives into engaging communications that support understanding, alignment and employee engagement. You will also collaborate with colleagues across Corporate Communications, Brand, Marketing & Communications and other business functions to ensure consistency, alignment and the effective sharing of best practices across the organisation.
This is a highly collaborative role that combines strategic communications, stakeholder management, content development, digital channel management and event delivery. You will partner with senior leaders to shape communication approaches and key messages, while also leading the execution of communication campaigns, content creation and engagement activities that connect colleagues across the business. Using engagement insights and analytics, you will continuously improve the effectiveness and impact of internal communications.
- Develop and implement the internal communications strategy for the Water & Maritime business line, ensuring alignment with business objectives, leadership priorities and organisational initiatives
- Partner with senior leaders, management team members and strategic stakeholders to provide communications counsel, develop compelling leadership communications and support the visibility of key business priorities and thought leadership initiatives
- Lead strategic business line communication programmes, including town halls, leadership webinars, employee engagement campaigns and communications supporting commercial, technical and organisational developments
- Own and continuously develop the internal communications channel landscape, including the intranet, newsletters and digital engagement platforms, establishing governance, best practices and a consistent employee experience across all channels
- Create and deliver engaging internal communications content, including leadership messages, strategic updates, campaigns, newsletters and key announcements, ensuring content is clear, accessible and aligned with our brand and communication standards
- Define and monitor communication success measures, using analytics, engagement data and employee feedback to evaluate effectiveness, optimise channels and continuously improve the impact of internal communications

The team supports business growth, market visibility and employee engagement through integrated marketing, communications, business development and tender support activities. Working closely with colleagues across regions and disciplines, the team helps strengthen client relationships, promote strategic priorities, support major pursuits and drive commercial success across the business line.
We are looking for an experienced communications professional who combines strategic thinking with excellent execution skills. You are a confident communicator, skilled at building relationships across all levels of an organisation, with the ability to translate complex business topics into clear and engaging communications that resonate with diverse audiences.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Business or a related field, providing a strong foundation in strategic communication, stakeholder engagement and organisational communications
- Proven experience in internal communications, corporate communications or employee engagement roles within a global organisation, with experience working across different regions, cultures and stakeholder groups
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to create compelling content, develop clear narratives and adapt messaging for diverse audiences, communication channels and cultural contexts
- Experience managing digital communication channels, such as intranets, newsletters, webinars and collaboration platforms, including the use of analytics and engagement metrics to measure effectiveness and drive continuous improvement
- Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools to enhance communication planning, content creation, workflow efficiency and employee engagement activities, with a proactive approach to exploring emerging technologies and innovative ways of working
- Strong stakeholder management and project management skills, with experience advising senior leaders and coordinating communication initiatives across multiple teams, functions and regions
