In the role of EST Officer, you help translate Haskoning’s purpose, Enhancing Society Together, into measurable impact within Real Estate & Facility Management. You play a key role in ensuring that our workplaces, buildings and facility operations support a more sustainable, responsible and future-proof organisation.
You connect purpose, policy and operational reality. This means turning ambitions around sustainability, ESG, Paris-proof targets and environmental performance into practical actions, reliable data, clear reporting and continuous improvement across the real estate portfolio.
You collect, validate and analyse data on energy use, emissions, environmental performance, compliance and building-related performance. You translate this information into insights, risks and improvement initiatives that support decision-making and demonstrate how Real Estate contributes to Haskoning’s positive impact agenda.
A key part of your role is working closely with Finance and corporate reporting stakeholders to ensure that sustainability and real estate data is accurate, complete, traceable and audit-ready for annual reporting, ESG disclosures and CSRD-related requirements.
As this is a newly established role, you will help professionalise how Real Estate measures, manages and communicates its contribution to Enhancing Society Together. You bring structure, insight and momentum to a function that is increasingly expected to deliver measurable environmental, social and financial value.
Scope and mandate:
- Operates within the Real Estate & Facility Management domain, with a clear link to Haskoning’s purpose: Enhancing Society Together
- Reports to the Manager Real Estate
- Works across multiple locations and stakeholders, including Real Estate, Facility Management, Finance, corporate reporting teams, external suppliers and advisors
- Focuses on analysis, coordination, reporting and continuous improvement
- Supports the translation of sustainability and ESG ambitions into measurable outcomes for workplaces, buildings and facility operations
- Contributes to ESG and CSRD reporting cycles by bridging operational data and corporate disclosures
- Identifies risks, gaps and improvement opportunities related to environmental performance, compliance and data quality
- Strengthens the professionalisation of sustainability, compliance and reporting within Real Estate

As our new EST Officer, you will become part of the corporate group Digital & Workplace Solutions (DWS) in the Netherlands. DWS provides services to the internal organisation, enabling colleagues to serve their clients in the best possible way.
DWS’s activities are divided across three domains: Enterprise IT & Services, Real Estate & Facility, and Digital & AI. In addition, there is a separate team for information security. The structure of DWS was recently reorganised to allow the three domains to come into their own more effectively. As a result, several new roles have been created, including that of EST Officer. This role will be part of Real Estate & Facility.
Requirements:
- Completed Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Real Estate, Facility Management, Sustainability, Engineering, Environmental Management, Business Administration or similar
- Approximately 8 years of relevant work experience in sustainability, real estate, compliance, ESG, reporting or data-driven performance management
- Experience with sustainability data, environmental performance indicators, ESG reporting or CSRD-related processes is strongly preferred
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong analytical capability and ability to interpret complex data, trends and performance indicators
- Purpose-driven mindset, with the ability to connect operational work to broader sustainability and societal impact objectives
- Good understanding of, or strong affinity with, ESG, CSRD, sustainability reporting and environmental performance frameworks
- Able to translate policies, ambitions and data into concrete actions, measurable outcomes and improvement plans
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in Dutch and English
- Persuasive and collaborative, with the ability to influence stakeholders without formal authority
- Able to work effectively with Finance and reporting stakeholders to ensure data accuracy, consistency and audit readiness
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with a strong focus on reliability, traceability and accountability
- Comfortable working across functions, disciplines and locations
