The Role: Night Receptionist
As our Night Receptionist, you'll be responsible for overseeing the hotel during the night, assisting late arrivals, preparing the hotel for the following day, and ensuring the safety and comfort of our guests.
This is a position for 24–38 hours per week, depending on availability and business needs. The initial contract is a 0-hour contract for 7 months, including a 1-month probation period.
You will primarily work overnight shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
Your Responsibilities
- Welcome late-arriving guests and complete check-ins and check-outs
- Handle guest requests professionally and efficiently throughout the night
- Monitor the hotel and ensure a safe, secure, and welcoming environment
- Answer telephone and email enquiries
- Process reservations, amendments, and cancellations using our PMS (MEWS experience is an advantage)
- Complete nightly administrative tasks and prepare reports for the morning team
- Process payments and issue invoices accurately
- Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance where necessary
- Handle emergencies calmly and professionally
- Ensure the reception and lobby remain clean, organised, and presentable
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a hotel, hostel, or hospitality reception role
- Comfortable working independently during overnight hours
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written (additional languages are a bonus)
- Experience with PMS systems (MEWS is an advantage)
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Reliable, responsible, and able to remain calm under pressure
- Flexible availability for overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts
- Living in or near Amsterdam with valid permission to work in the Netherlands
