About the Role
The Investment Strategies & Solutions Specialist – Europe will represent Loomis Sayles overall and Loomis Sayles Fixed Income capabilities and selected equity strategies, together with the Investment Strategies & Solutions Director – Europe. The goal of this role is to expand the European client base for the investment teams in addition to servicing immediate needs of their European clients. This Investment Strategies & Solutions Specialist – Europe will work closely with the Investment Directors of the Product Management Group.
About the Loomis Sayles Fixed Income platform:
The Loomis Sayles Fixed Income investment engines are known for a tested and proven alpha thesis that allow their institutional and wholesale client audience to invest across the Fixed Income spectrum. Loomis Sayles has the capacity to invest in the Global, US or Euro investment universe (on a standalone basis or as part of multi sector fixed income strategies) or more specific sectors like mortgage and structured finance or emerging market debt. It is characterized by its fundamental bottom-up style whilst incorporating the latest innovations in data science.
Job Responsibilities
- This individual will serve as an investment expert and key advocate for Loomis Sayles Fixed Income capabilities and selected Equity strategies with a primary focus on the European client and prospect base
- Mapping and building out the existing European client network for Loomis Sayles and Natixis Business Development Units (BDUs)
- Overseeing roadshows across Europe with Natixis BDUs to ensure they are well coordinated, efficient and effective with appropriate pre-planning and follow-up
- Enhance Loomis Sayles relationship management and Natixis team effectiveness in presenting strategies by working with product marketing to provide education and support
- Serve as first point of contact for Natixis to qualify new business opportunities, drive the sales process and help with ad hoc questions and analysis requests on investment strategies
- Develop in-depth knowledge of the teams’ investment strategies, including alpha thesis, investment philosophy and process, and primary performance sources and peer group analysis
- Directly present the Loomis Sayles Fixed Income platform and selected Equity strategies to prospects and clients in a credible, knowledgeable, and dynamic manner when appropriate
- Serve as European market champion and generate investment content ideas for organizational efforts to create compelling and accurate messaging in marketing presentations, collateral, and client service material
- Work with product marketing to develop and execute product positioning and business plans for the Loomis Sayles Fixed Income platform and selected Equity strategies
- Feed new product development ideas driven by local market demand or custom solutions
- Represent the firm at industry conferences and speaking engagements where appropriate
- Support with ideas to create whitepapers and other thought leadership when such tools are beneficial
- Partner with Investment Directors and RFP team to maintain standard RFP library of responses and write customized responses as requested
- Work with technology and operations on implementation of tools which enhance efficiency in client and prospect management
- Cross-fertilize to share best practices across members of the product management team and drive collaboration with other functions at firm to improve product related processes
Qualifications & Education Requirements
- 10 plus years of relevant experience in the investment management industry
- Proven Sales & Relationship management experience
- Fixed income experience
- CFA preferred
- Fluent in English and either German/French/Spanish/Italian
- Experience presenting to large, sophisticated asset buyers and influencers such as corporate plans, public plans, family offices, endowment/foundations and investment consultants
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to develop positioning points and influence decision-makers
- Self-motivated individual with the desire to collaboratively build and sustain a book of business. Sense of ownership and accountability are essential
- Interest and ability to develop a good knowledge of each team’s investment strategies, including alpha thesis, investment philosophy and process, and primary performance sources and peer group analysis
- Strong collaborative skills. Ability to work effectively among peers and across the organization, with a high level of professionalism, business acumen and sound judgment
- Hands on orientation. Willingness to perform detailed tasks
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities
- International travel (focus on Europe) as necessary, 20% - 40% of time.
Additional Requirements
The position follows a hybrid schedule with two days work from home and three days work from office.
Loomis Sayles is committed to offering competitive and equitable compensation. The salary range for this position is 145,000 – 245,000 Euro. Your starting salary will be based on your experience, skills, qualifications and local benchmarking. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual incentive award, which is based on individual and company performance.
