Job Summary
Every minute counts in the logistics world. Do you always have an eye on what’s happening, and do you know how to respond? As a vehicle shifter at UPS, you’re an important link in our logistics chain. Are you interested in further developing your talent within an international organization with endless possibilities?
What you’ll do
As a vehicle shifter at UPS, you know what’s going on at the yard. You have an exemplary function and understand the value of punctuality. Nothing happens without you realizing it, and you intervene when necessary. That means that you also dare to address your colleagues when things aren’t going as they should. What does an average working day look like for you? Before you start, you check with the help of a checklist whether your car is in order. Then you start with your work shift at the yard, receiving all assignments via an on-board computer. During the day you regularly communicate with the control room. At the end of your shift, you ensure that all containers and trailers are properly closed, and you also check your car again. Are there any defects? Then you report this before you go home.
What you’ll need
- High school diploma or international equivalent.
- 2 years’ experience driving vehicles.
- A valid B driving license.
- The physical condition to manually secure a container to a trailer or truck.
- Knowledge of package handling principles.
- Flexibility: your start time may fluctuate according to when the operation starts.
What you’ll get
- Salary according to the D pay scale of the TLN Collective Labour Agreement (CAO), depending on experience
(indicative range: €2,893.55 – €3,520.40 gross per month
