Job Description:
Position Summary
As a Warehouse Employee Airfreight at Schiphol, you are responsible for the secure, compliant, and timely handling of air cargo within a regulated aviation environment. You operate under strict Dutch and international aviation security, customs, and safety legislation, supporting both import and export flows.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, process, and release airfreight shipments in accordance with Schiphol and airline procedures
- Build and break down ULDs and pallets in line with IATA, airline, and Schiphol standards
- Execute airside and landside cargo handling activities
- Perform security checks in accordance with EU Regulation 2015/1998 and ACC3 requirements
- Ensure correct customs handling (import, export, transit, T1/T2) in cooperation with Dutch Customs
- Load and unload trucks using certified handling equipment (forklift, EPT)
- Register all cargo movements accurately in WMS and airline systems
- Identify and report damages, discrepancies, and security deviations immediately
- Maintain a clean, safe, and audit-ready warehouse environment
- Comply with Schiphol safety rules, airside driving regulations (if applicable), and PPE requirements
Compliance & Security
- Work strictly according to:
- IATA Cargo Handling Manual (ICHM)
- EU aviation security legislation (incl. Reg. 2015/1998)
- ACC3 / RA3 requirements
- Dutch Customs (Douane) procedures
- Schiphol safety and access regulations
- Actively contribute to audits, inspections, and security controls
Requirements
- Experience in airfreight or regulated logistics environment preferred
- Ability to obtain and maintain:
- VGB
- Forklift certificate required (or willingness to obtain)
- Knowledge of import/export and customs flows is an advantage
- Security-aware, disciplined, and compliant by nature
- Physically fit; able to work in shifts (incl. nights/weekends)
- Functional English required (Dutch preferred)
