The Head Barista manages daily coffee bar operations and oversees staff, ensuring high-quality coffee and other beverages, excellent customer service, and a positive work environment. Responsibilities
Barista work, training baristas, adjusting and maintaining equipment, managing inventory, handling customer complaints. Creating a beverages menu and a professional, friendly, and efficient atmosphere. Offering positive leadership, organization, and a deep passion for specialty coffee and other beverages.
Supervising baristas, provide training, and foster a professional and collaborative team environment.
Manage daily operations, ensuring consistency in service and product quality.
Provide exemplary customer service, resolve complaints professionally, and create a welcoming atmosphere.
Ensure that high-quality specialty coffee and other drinks are prepared according to standards and recipes. Order and maintain supplies, manage inventory, and ensure the bar is well-stocked.
Perform or arrange for preventive equipment maintenance and troubleshoot breakdowns to keep equipment in good working order.
Maintain a safe, clean, and presentable work environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
Experiment to develop new products and evolve the experience of our guests.
Essential Skills & Qualities
Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate a team, setting a positive example.
Communication: Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills for guest and staff interactions. Languages: English. Dutch is a plus, not essential.
Organization: Detail-oriented and well organized to manage various tasks effectively.
Problem-Solving: Ability to creatively and calmly troubleshoot difficult situations.
Adaptability: Capable of handling the demands of a fast-paced work environment.
Passion for Coffee and other non-alcoholic drinks: Love for coffee and the coffee industry, including sharing knowledge with guests.
Experience & Qualifications
Prior experience as a barista, with a few years in specialty coffee.
Previous supervisory or management experience can be a significant advantage.
A formal degree is not required, though a high school diploma is preferred.
Certifications: A food handling certificate, or being willing to gain one is a must.
Work hours: 32 to 40 hours per week.
