We are looking for an experienced Network Security Engineer to design, implement, coordinate, and maintain our client’s global network and perimeter security infrastructure across all levels.
In this role, you will bring well-established technical experience in networking and network security to manage secure and efficient data flows across a complex environment. You will collaborate closely with data center outsourcing partners, the CISO department, and other key security stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be skilled in Python, have a strong background in network automation, and possess a “security-by-design” approach to solving complex engineering challenges.
As a Network Security Engineer, you are responsible for designing, implementing, and coordinating security-focused network infrastructure that maps complex business requirements to robust technology solutions.
Coordinate the end-to-end design and maintenance of the global network security architecture.
Partner with external hosting and data center providers to manage secure, compliant, and optimized data routing.
Draft, maintain, and execute technical security policies, operational procedures, and audit remediation steps.
Utilize automation and scripting (specifically Python) to streamline network operations and eliminate manual overhead.
Work collaboratively across international teams to troubleshoot issues, implement security-by-design paradigms, and safeguard the network perimeter.
Serve as the primary technical coordinator and escalation point for complex network troubleshooting.
Liaise directly with peer infrastructure teams, the CISO department, and external security stakeholders to align on security directives.
Review, challenge, and refine application security designs and associated traffic flows to ensure comprehensive security compliance.
Demonstrate strong technical leadership to continuously improve teamwork, governance interaction, and cross-team alignment.
Additional activities: Activities will include defining clear roles and responsibilities as part of the overall network security strategy, and coaching and aligning delivery team members in relevant aspects of secure network design.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
Track Record: 7+ years of hands-on experience as a Network and Network Security Engineer, with a strong preference for experience gained within the banking, clearing, or financial services industries.
Vendor Expertise: Solid, proven experience configuring and managing Cisco networking equipment and enterprise protocols.
Industry Certifications (Preferred): * Cisco Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE.
Information Security professional qualifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CEH, CISA, CISM, or CCSK.
Technical Depth: Comprehensive understanding of the entire network stack, data center operations, and core security concepts (including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems).
Automation Focus: Skilled in Python with practical experience utilizing network automation tooling to improve efficiency.
Mindset: A strong sense of ownership over tasks, a natural inclination toward “security-by-design”, and a level-headed approach to troubleshooting complex challenges under pressure.
Collaboration Style: Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English. Comfortable working independently while respecting established enterprise solutions and compliance processes.
Global Readiness: Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a global team context across multiple time zones (spanning UTC +8 to UTC -7).
