As a Technical Maintenance Coordinator at Wageningen University & Research, you are responsible for the technical assurance of maintenance and service contracts within our real estate portfolio.
You ensure that maintenance and service contracts are not only carried out, but are technically sound, properly documented, and compliant with the required standards. In doing so, you look beyond execution alone and focus on how installations contribute to safety, functionality, and continuity. As a Technical Maintenance Coordinator, you contribute to strengthening technical control and assurance within the Building & Housing Management (BHM) section, which is part of the Real Estate & Housing (V&H) department.
Your duties and responsibilities include:

assessing maintenance reports and completed work from a technical perspective;
-
monitoring quality, safety, and compliance with contractual agreements;
-
assessing and processing technical asset updates in Planon;
-
reviewing compliance-related information (such as inspections, certifications, and test reports);
-
coordinating with contractors, project managers, and internal stakeholders regarding execution and performance.
Your team
You will work with colleagues within the Building & Housing Management (BHM) section, part of the Real Estate & Housing department within the Facilities & Services division.
Within BHM, different disciplines collaborate closely, including project management, asset management, and technical operations. You will work closely with project managers, Technical Building Managers, and the asset manager. In addition, you will have frequent contact with external contractors, such as installers and construction companies, and you will align with contract management (ICM). Together, you contribute to the technical management and maintenance of WUR’s real estate portfolio.

You will be part of the Building & Housing Management (BHM) section, within the Real Estate & Housing department of Wageningen University & Research’s Facilities & Services division. BHM is – in collaboration with other organizational units - responsible for construction, project, and maintenance management of WUR’s buildings and installations across various locations in the Netherlands.
Within the section, multiple technical domains are represented, including civil, mechanical, electrical engineering, and measurement & control systems. In this environment, specialists work together to ensure the technical quality and continuity of the real estate portfolio.
Together with approximately 23 colleagues, you manage a large and diverse real estate portfolio of around 650,000 m², including educational buildings, laboratories, research facilities, greenhouses, and utility spaces. The working environment within V&H BHM is collegial, professional, and content-driven. We collaborate closely, support each other, and value a proactive mindset and sense of ownership in our work.
You are a technically skilled professional who maintains oversight and connects maintenance, contracts, and asset information. You work carefully, have a strong attention to detail, and can maintain a broader perspective.
You communicate effectively with different stakeholders, both internal and external, and are able to explain technical matters clearly. You take ownership of your work and proactively organize and safeguard processes and information.
You also possess:

a completed bachelor’s degree (HBO level), preferably in a technical field such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or construction engineering, or an equivalent level of thinking and working;
-
relevant work experience in technical maintenance, asset management, or contract-based maintenance of buildings or installations;
-
experience in reviewing technical documentation, such as maintenance reports, inspections, or certifications;
For this position, it is essential that you have an excellent command of Dutch, both written and spoken. You will work intensively with internal colleagues and external parties such as contractors and installers, where Dutch is the primary working language.
Within Wageningen University & Research, English is increasingly used in parts of the organisation. For this position, a basic level of English proficiency is therefore desirable. If needed, we support your development through our language centre Wageningen in’to Language.

We offer, depending on your experience, a competitive gross salary of between € 3,399. - and € 5,478.- for a full-time working week of 36 hours, in accordance with the CLA Wageningen Research (scale 10). Additionally, for this role a contract for 32 hours can be discussed. As for your contract, we initially offer a one-year contract with the intention of converting it to a contract for an indefinite period.
