Junior Sales
Location: Almere, Netherlands
Employment: Full-time, 32–40 hours per week
Salary: €2,700 – €5,000 gross per month, depending on experience and qualifications
About the Role
HK International B.V. specializes in the supply of dredging equipment, pumps, and mechanical engineering solutions for international customers.
We are looking for an ambitious and technically minded Junior Sales to join our team in Almere.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate with an engineering background who is interested in developing a career in technical sales, as well as for candidates who already have some experience in mechanical engineering or technical sales.
You will work closely with our engineering and sales teams and gradually develop your knowledge of dredging equipment, pumps, mechanical systems, and engineering projects. You will communicate with customers, understand their technical requirements, prepare quotations, follow up on projects, and visit customers when needed.
We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, enjoys communicating with customers, and is interested in combining technical knowledge with commercial skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate with existing and potential customers in the Netherlands and internationally.
- Understand customer requirements and help identify suitable technical solutions.
- Support sales activities for dredging equipment, pumps, and mechanical engineering products.
- Visit customers and attend meetings when required.
- Work closely with engineers and project managers on customer projects.
- Develop technical knowledge of our products and mechanical engineering solutions.
- Maintain customer relationships and identify new business opportunities.
- Assist with sales administration, documentation, and follow-up.
Mandatory Requirements
- HBO, Bachelor's degree or equivalent background in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Marine Engineering, Mechatronics, or another relevant engineering discipline.
- Native-level Dutch, both spoken and written.
- Strong command of English, both spoken and written.
- Strong interest in mechanical engineering and technical products.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driving licence (B).
- Willingness to travel and visit customers within the Netherlands and occasionally abroad.
- Willingness and ability to learn technical knowledge related to mechanical engineering, dredging equipment, pumps, and engineering projects.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Full-time availability (32–40 hours per week).
- Available to work on-site in Almere.
- Preferably living within 30 km commuting distance of Almere (1321 NP).
- Valid residence permit and legal authorization to work in the Netherlands.
Who We Are Looking For
- Recent engineering graduates who are interested in starting a career in technical sales; or
- Candidates who already have experience in mechanical engineering, technical sales, industrial sales, or a related field.
Previous sales experience is an advantage, but not essential for the right candidate. We are more interested in your technical background, communication skills, motivation, and willingness to learn. You don't need to be an expert in dredging equipment when you start. We will provide the opportunity to learn our products and industry.
