International Social Media and PR Manager Balmain Hair Couture
Balmain Hair Couture is an independent Dutch family-owned luxury haircare brand with a fifty-year heritage. What started with wigs has grown into a globally recognised name in high-end haircare, with a portfolio of own brands, licensed brands and a celebrity line. The brand is strongly embedded in the world of fashion and beauty, visible on international fashion weeks, the Cannes Film Festival and through leading influencers. Products are sold worldwide via luxury salons, distributors, department stores and online platforms.
With a new brand strategy centred on premiumisation and a clear ambition to grow retail and e-commerce, Balmain Hair Couture is entering an exciting new phase of international expansion.
The International Social Media and PR Manager is responsible for managing and enhancing the reputation, visibility, and consistency of multiple brands across international markets. This role oversees global social media and public relations activities for a diverse brand portfolio, ensuring each brand maintains a distinct identity while aligning with overarching organizational values and communication standards.
The position operates at the intersection of global strategy and local execution, coordinating cross-market communication, reputation management, and storytelling for multiple brands.
Key Responsibilities
1. Global Social Media Strategy & Multi-Brand Management
- Develop and implement global social media strategies for multiple brands
- Define channel strategies, content frameworks, and governance models per brand
- Ensure clear differentiation of brand voice, tone, and positioning across platforms
- Oversee social media presence across regions, markets, and brand accounts
- Monitor global trends, platform developments, and competitor landscapes per brand
2. Content Development & Brand Storytelling
- Oversee creation of high-quality, brand-specific content for global audiences
- Ensure consistent messaging within each brand while aligning with group-level guidelines
- Adapt and localize content to suit cultural, linguistic, and market-specific needs
- Coordinate with internal teams, agencies, and external partners across brands
- Manage content approval processes to ensure accuracy and brand compliance
3. Community Management & Global Engagement
- Monitor and manage engagement across multiple brand communities worldwide
- Establish engagement guidelines tailored to each brand’s audience and tone
- Respond to inquiries, comments, and mentions in a timely and brand-appropriate manner
- Escalate and manage issues in collaboration with regional and brand stakeholders
- Identify opportunities for community growth and advocacy per brand
4. International Public Relations & Media Relations
- Develop and execute international PR strategies for individual brands and the overall organization
- Draft and distribute press materials tailored to brand-specific narratives
- Manage relationships with global, regional, and local media across multiple industries
- Coordinate interviews, announcements, and press events for different brands
- Track and analyze media coverage at brand and portfolio level
5. Campaigns, Influencers & Partnerships
- Plan and execute integrated global campaigns across multiple brands
- Manage influencer, ambassador, and partnership initiatives per brand
- Ensure brand fit, regulatory compliance, and cultural alignment in each market
- Coordinate shared or umbrella campaigns where appropriate across brands
- Measure campaign effectiveness at both brand and portfolio levels
6. Analytics, Reporting & Portfolio Optimization
- Track and analyze KPIs for individual brands and the overall brand portfolio
- Prepare consolidated and brand-level performance reports for stakeholders
- Compare performance across brands, regions, and channels to identify opportunities
- Use insights to optimize strategies and resource allocation across the portfolio
7. Cross-Functional & Cross-Regional Collaboration
- Work closely with PR agencies, local teams from distributors, marketing, and leadership
- Act as a central point of coordination for global brand communication standards
· Collaborate closely with Marketing to ensure PR, social media, and campaign narratives align with brand positioning, go-to-market strategies, and commercial priorities
· Partner with Education team to translate educational content, thought leadership, and expertise into compelling PR stories and social media narratives
8. Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Lead, manage, and develop the PR and communications team, including social media and external communications roles
- Set clear goals, priorities, and performance expectations for the team
- Provide coaching, feedback, and professional development to strengthen capabilities across PR, content, and community management
- Coordinate internal resources and external agencies to ensure efficient execution and quality output
- Foster collaboration, accountability, and high standards across the communications function
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in PR, communications, or brand communications, preferably in an international and multi-brand environment
- Proven experience managing global or regional PR and social media strategies
- Experience leading and developing teams and working with external agencies
- Background in education, professional learning, or knowledge-driven brands is a strong advantage
- Excellent writing and editorial judgment in English (additional languages are a plus)
