As s Senior Electrical Cost Engineer, you translate complex electrical customer requests into tailored technical designs and calculate the project costs. You work in a small, close‑knit team of three colleagues in an open and informal environment where close collaboration and technical brainstorming play a key role. You work in project teams with experts in water technology, structural engineering, and climate technology. Together, you form one technical unit, brainstorming to find the best technical solutions. You design the electrical and computer‑technical infrastructure for our innovative horticultural projects: from high‑tech greenhouses to climate cells.
At Certhon, we focus on continuous improvement. You contribute to this by introducing process improvements and embedding new market trends, product innovations, and hands‑on insights into your designs.
Your responsibilities include:
Creating layout drawings in AutoCAD;
Performing electrical calculations, such as cable sizing, lighting calculations, and power calculations;
Calculating materials, labor, and project costs in our ERP system;
Collaborating with suppliers, both technically and commercially;
Preparing the quotation and reviewing it with the sales team, who will present it to the customer;
Organizing project handovers and knowledge‑sharing sessions with the work preparation team.
You also work closely with our sales team and will regularly join customer meetings to provide expert advice from your technical perspective. What makes your work so enjoyable? Each project is unique: always tailored to the ccustomer’s needs, suitable for different crops, and built to withstand various weather conditions. This keeps you technically challenged and allows you to express your creativity. You also work on multiple projects at the same time and have the autonomy to determine which installations are the best fit for each request.
You have at least 7 years of experience in a similar role and an affinity with the horticultural sector. Experience in horticulture is a plus, but not required.
You have a passion for technology and enjoy solving complex technical challenges.
You are critical, inventive, strong with numbers, and enjoy sharing your knowledge.
You value autonomy, take ownership of your work, work accurately, maintain oversight, and collaborate effectively with others.
You have good communication skills in Dutch and/or English (reading/writing).
