Founding Operations & Communications Collaborator for ȘATRA (Volunteer)

About ȘATRA
ȘATRA is a community-driven cultural gathering being built in Amsterdam around music, food, art, belonging and human connection.
The name comes from the idea of a traditional șatră, a gathering or travelling community where people come together to share stories, music, food and life. The vision behind ȘATRA is to create a warm and welcoming space where strangers can become community, where different cultures meet, and where artists, creatives, volunteers and guests all help shape the atmosphere together.
The first gathering is planned for September 2026 in Amsterdam, and I’m currently looking for someone who would like to help me on the coordination, communication and organisational side of bringing the first edition to life.
The role
I’m looking for a founding collaborator who can support me with the practical side of building the first ȘATRA gathering.
This is not a cold corporate project-management role. It’s more like being a reliable right hand in the weeks leading up to the event, helping keep communication, follow-up and organisation clear while the creative side of ȘATRA takes shape.
What you could help with
Depending on your strengths and availability, support could include:
- keeping track of artists, volunteers and collaborators
- helping with follow-up messages, scheduling calls and confirmations
- supporting communication across email / WhatsApp / Instagram
- helping organise information so things don’t get lost
- keeping a simple planning sheet / timeline / to-do overview
- helping with practical coordination in the lead-up to the event
- supporting the event-day organisation if available
The kind of person I’m looking for
Someone who:
- is organised, calm and reliable
- communicates clearly and warmly with people
- likes cultural, music, community or grassroots projects
- enjoys helping bring order to moving parts without making things feel corporate
- can take initiative and not wait to be told every small thing
- is comfortable with a bit of chaos and building something from the beginning
- cares about belonging, community and human connection
Important to know
This is a volunteer / founding collaborator role connected to the first edition of a donation-based event.
At this stage, there is no fixed salary attached to the role. I’m looking for someone who genuinely connects with the project and would like to help build its first chapter together. If ȘATRA grows in the way I hope it will, I would love for the right people to grow with it into future paid collaborations and a longer-term role in the project.
