Global Metadata Consultant
Do you want to help shape the future of how our organization uses data, making it AI-ready and future-proof? We are looking for a curious and driven Global Metadata Consultant who wants to help build a future-proof, AI-ready data foundation and improve data transparency across our international organization.
In a world where AI is becoming a core driver of business value, context is key: without well-described, trusted, and connected data, AI cannot deliver meaningful or reliable outcomes.
This is a unique opportunity to work on a capability that is still evolving, where you can truly make your mark, influence how the organization works with data at scale, and directly contribute to making AI reliable, explainable, and impactful .
In this role, you will focus on implementing and operationalizing metadata management practices (including data lineage, business metadata, technical metadata and data governance), helping to make data context, meaning, and flows visible, understandable, and usable for the business.
You will work at the heart of enabling AI by ensuring that data is not only available, but also understandable, trusted, and usable in the right context, making this role highly impactful and future-oriented.
Your role
As a Global Metadata Consultant, you will contribute to designing, implementing, and improving enterprise metadata capabilities across DLL. You will work with both business and IT stakeholders to understand data context and help translate this into clear, practical insights that support decision making, impact analysis, and data trust.
You will play a key role in shaping how we capture, manage and use metadata to support a scalable, future-proof and AI-ready data landscape.
A key focus will be first on building and operationalizing data lineage, closely connected to metadata management and the enterprise data catalog (EDC).
What is metadata management at DLL?
Metadata management describes how we capture, organize, and govern information about data, including its meaning, structure, origin, movement, transformation, ownership, and usage, across systems, processes, and platforms. Data lineage is a key element within this broader capability.
Strong metadata management enables the organization to:
- Understand what data means, how it is defined, and who owns it
- Understand how data is created and transformed
- Assess the impact of changes
- Increase trust in data, reports, and analytics
- Support regulatory and audit requirements
- Enable AI-ready data by ensuring data is well-described, transparent, traceable, and governed
Provide the critical context that AI and advanced analytics need to generate accurate, explainable, and trustworthy insights
-
In an AI-driven organization, metadata becomes the foundation for scale: it allows data, models, and users to connect in a meaningful way. This is what makes this role both strategically important and exciting to work on.
In this role, you help make this transparency practical and usable for the organization, supporting both operational excellence and strategic transformation..
Your responsibilities
- Help drive and coordinate the rollout of metadata management ((including data lineage, data definitions, and cataloging) capabilities across DLL, ensuring alignment across teams and domains
- Analyse and understand data context across systems and domains
- Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of metadata
- Work with data engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to capture and enrich metadata and trace data end-to-end
- Translate complex data context and flows into clear and understandable insights and visualizations
- Help configure and improve metadata tooling and integrations
- Contribute to standards and ways of working for metadata
- Support adoption through metadata governance, documentation, guidance, and collaboration
- Contribute to building a future-proof enterprise metadata foundation that supports advanced analytics and AI use cases
- Actively contribute to positioning metadata as a key enabler of AI and data-driven innovation within the organization
