Role overview
A leading enterprise environment within Vattenfall is looking for a highly experienced Senior Infrastructure Architect / Snowflake Data Architect to help shape and guide the future of its enterprise data platform landscape.
This is not a purely hands-on engineering role.
We are looking for a senior architectural leader who can operate independently in a complex stakeholder environment, create structure where ambiguity exists, and translate enterprise data strategy into concrete architecture direction and deliverables.
You will work at the intersection of architecture, governance, engineering and stakeholder management, with Snowflake as the core platform.
The Role
As Senior Infrastructure Architect / Snowflake Data Architect, you will take ownership of reviewing, improving and guiding the current Snowflake landscape while aligning platform capabilities with enterprise architecture standards and long-term data strategy.
You will work closely with:
- Data Engineers
- Product Teams
- Solution Architects
- Engineering Leads
- Business Stakeholders

- provides architectural leadership,
- and delivers concrete architecture outcomes in complex environments.
Responsibilities
- Review and improve existing Snowflake architecture
- Define and guide architecture principles and standards
- Align platform capabilities with enterprise data strategy
- Drive scalability, governance and standardisation
- Improve performance, reliability and cost efficiency (FinOps)
- Design and guide ETL / ELT and data ingestion frameworks
- Support data modelling and engineering best practices
- Advise senior stakeholders on architectural direction
- Mentor internal teams on Snowflake capabilities and best practices
- Create clear architecture deliverables, documentation and direction
Required Experience
- 6+ years of experience as Data Architect / Infrastructure Architect
- Strong experience with Snowflake architecture and development
- Experience with ETL / ELT design and data pipelines
- Strong SQL skills (ANSI SQL + Snowflake SQL)
- Experience with data modelling and data engineering
- Experience with performance tuning and optimization
- Knowledge of data governance, security and compliance
- Experience with FinOps / cost optimization within data platforms
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience operating in complex enterprise environments
- Ability to work independently and create structure in ambiguity
