Store Assistant – Kelly's Expat Shopping Utrecht

For our store in Utrecht, we are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Store Assistant to join our team.
At Kelly's Expat Shopping, we're passionate about bringing a taste of home to expats and international food lovers across Europe. What started as a small family-run business in 2008 has grown into a thriving company with stores in The Hague, Wassenaar, Amsterdam, Utrecht and Rotterdam a webshop serving customers across Europe and a large warehouse in Alphen aan den Rijn.
We specialise in British, American, and Irish groceries, including chilled, frozen, and ambient products. To support our continued growth, we're looking for a motivated team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced retail environment.
What you will be doing
As a Store Assistant, you'll be involved in all aspects of daily store operations, including:
- Receiving, checking, and organising deliveries.
- Restocking shelves and ensuring products are presented attractively.
- Assisting customers at the checkout, on the shop floor, and over the phone.
- Providing excellent customer service and promoting current offers and products.
- Handling customer enquiries and complaints professionally.
- Maintaining accurate pricing, labeling, and product information.
- Keeping the store clean, tidy, and welcoming for customers.
- Unloading deliveries and helping the team process stock efficiently.
Please note: this is a physically active role involving regular lifting, carrying stock, and long periods standing and walking.
What we are looking for
- Previous retail or customer service experience.
- A positive, hands-on attitude and willingness to learn.
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling tasks.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service focus.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, email, etc.).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible and reliable, with a proactive approach to work.
