As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will own complex mechanical design work packages from concept through to release. You will be a central figure in a high-profile programme at a world-leading semiconductor OEM. Using CAD, PLM, and PDM tools, you will create and maintain 3D models, drawings, BOMs, and Technical Product Documentation (TPD). This documentation supports everything from manufacturing and assembly to testing and servicing. You will manage design changes in line with Change Management guidelines, keeping decisions and requirements fully traceable. GD&T principles and tolerance analysis will be part of your everyday toolkit, helping to define critical interfaces and performance requirements.
In this role you will play a key role in:
-
Proactively identifying technical risks, dependencies, and interface issues, proposing mitigation strategies and communicating them early to the Lead Engineer, Product Owner, or Project Manager.
-
Leading and facilitating technical discussions for assigned work packages, including design alignment, trade-off analyses, and interface reviews and capturing outcomes clearly.
-
Reviewing the work of Design Engineers through structured peer reviews, providing constructive feedback and supporting continuous improvement.
-
Collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders including suppliers, factory and field teams, and cross-disciplinary colleagues to deliver solutions and resolve technical challenges.
-
Contributing to the continuous improvement of team ways of working and sharing knowledge through Community of Practice (CoP) sessions and similar forums.
