Schmidt Edelstahl is a European specialist in patterned-rolled and embossed stainless steel surfaces. German in origin with the Headoffice in Hückeswagen, Schmidt supplies customers in the machine building, architecture, and elevator industries across Europe. Since 2026 we have an office in Amsterdam from where we expand our international activities.
The Team in Amsterdam
Our Amsterdam office is still compact: right now it's just the two of us, and with a Marketing and a Sales Support colleague joining, we'll go to four. No thirty-person marketing department where your idea disappears into an approval chain, just direct lines to the people who'll actually make it happen, probably because they're sitting right next to you. Small team, plenty of room to actually build marketing here. So even though Schmidt is already 40 years old, we still rock the start-up vibe.
The Challenge
Stainless steel isn't the first product that gets people excited, and embossed stainless steel even less so. We think that can change, and might even be fun. Our ambition: to become the most visible and most sought-after name in embossed stainless steel in Europe, even though that sounds like a product nobody would post about on Instagram. To achieve that, we need someone who can translate a technical, seemingly "unsexy" product into content people actually click on, strong branding, and a brand the market can't ignore. Even though we love AI, nothing can beat human interaction. If you know what to do, we're looking for you. Bonus points if you already thought of a pun about "steel with character."
Job Description
For our Amsterdam office, we are looking for a marketing allrounder who independently takes on all marketing disciplines within Schmidt Edelstahl: from SEO/SEA and content to corporate identity and trade show preparation. You'll get the creative freedom to put Schmidt on the map, and build the brand on an International level.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Optimizing SEO and SEA
- Website management and coordination with external partners/agencies
- Developing a strong, recognizable corporate identity for Schmidt Edelstahl
- Social media and content: planning and producing posts, articles, and technical/product content
- Preparing trade show participation, including presentation materials and communication
- Contributing to and helping implement a marketing CRM system
- Translating technical product knowledge (including embossed) into appealing, sellable content
What We Ask of You
- Bachelor's (University of Applied Sciences) working and thinking level, with 3-5 years of work experience as a marketing allrounder, preferably in a B2B or industrial environment
- Strong sense of branding and corporate identity, and the ability to translate technical products into a compelling story
- Independent, creative, and entrepreneurial; you're not afraid to give the brand its own direction
- Fluency in German and English required; Dutch is a plus
- Practical knowledge of SEO/SEA and social media content production
