Orion Group Life Sciences are looking for a Warehouse Operator for our Multinational Pharmaceutical client based in Boxmeer. Initial 12-month contract. This is a fully onsite position.
The department
The Packaging Department comprises six teams (totalling over 200 FTE). One team operates in the VBE warehouse for secondary packaging materials, two teams work a two-shift schedule (focusing primarily on automated machinery), and one team works the day shift (handling both machine-based and manual packaging tasks). Additionally, there is an Improvement and Maintenance team that supports the primary production processes.
The role
The Warehouse VBE Operator works in a production environment regulated by SHE and GMP standards. This entails working in accordance with safety and quality procedures and guidelines without compromising output. Issues are identified and resolved through daily consultations (Tier 1 process), and a proactive attitude is expected from every Warehouse VBE Operator in this regard. Working hours are either 07:00–15:30 or 08:00–16:30.
Main Responsibilities of the role
- Sorting received materials and checking them for accuracy, quality, and requested quantities.
- Storing sorted materials by confirming their warehouse locations.
- Order-picking secondary packaging materials using a handheld scanner according to the JIT principle (right material, quality, and quantities at the right time and place).
- Checking and consolidating picked secondary packaging materials.
- Sharing responsibility for maintaining a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
- Ensuring storage equipment (pallet racks, warehouse shelving) and transport equipment (forklift, aerial work platform, stacker, and electric pallet truck) remain in good technical condition.
- Proactively contributing to improvement proposals and/or improvement projects.
- Taking personal responsibility for keeping personnel records up to date (e.g., TOJ, MyLearning, SBC training, development goals).
Required Qualifications and skills
- Minimum MBO-3 (vocational) level of education and proficiency, preferably supplemented by relevant certificates, training, and/or courses.
- Possession of a forklift or electric pallet truck (EPT) certificate is an asset.
- Logistics experience.
- Knowledge of and experience with GMP is an asset.
- Knowledge of safety (ergonomics, safety guidelines/SHE).
- Team player.
- Willingness to work overtime occasionally.
- Flexibility towards their customers.
- Fluent in Dutch and English.
