About the role
Algeco Benelux is looking for a Manager Construction and Retail to lead our Construction & Retail Business Unit. In this strategic leadership role, you will be responsible for driving commercial growth, operational performance, customer satisfaction, safety excellence, and continuous improvement across the Netherlands and Belgium.
You will lead a multidisciplinary organisation of approximately 55 employees, including 13 direct reports and play a key role in the strategic development and future growth of the business unit.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director Benelux, you will combine commercial leadership, operational management, organizational development, and safety leadership to deliver sustainable business success.
Key responsibilities
Commercial Leadership & Customer Growth
Drive sustainable growth and strengthen Algeco’s market position by:

Developing and executing commercial growth strategies.

Delivering revenue and order intake targets.

Building and maintaining strategic customer relationships.

Leading key account management activities.
-
Identifying new market opportunities and growth areas.
-
Managing tender processes and contract negotiations.

Driving cross-selling opportunities across Algeco business lines.

Developing long-term customer partnerships.

Monitoring market developments and competitor activity.

Translating opportunities into profitable business growth.
Operations, Planning & Project Delivery
Ensure operational excellence and successful project execution by:

Leading all construction and retail project delivery activities.

Managing capacity planning, workforce requirements, and resource allocation.

Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and according to quality standards.

Coordinating activities between Sales, Engineering, Logistics, Installation, Service, and Operations.

Improving project margins and operational efficiency.

Driving Operational Excellence initiatives.

Strengthening project governance and delivery performance.
-
Maintaining a strong customer focus throughout project execution.
People Leadership & Organisational Development
Build a high-performing organization through strong leadership and talent development by:

What You Bring
Entrepreneurial and results-oriented leader who combines commercial understanding with operational excellence.
Experience
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Construction, Business Administration, or a related field.

Minimum 810 years of leadership experience.

Experience within construction, modular construction, technical services, or project-driven organizations.

Proven success in business development and strategic customer management.
-
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
-
Strong project management and operational execution skills.
-
Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Business Central and/or 4PS.
-
Experience working in safety-critical environments and knowledge of VCA requirements.
-
Strong financial understanding and KPI management experience.
-
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Fluency in Dutch and English.
