Hello. We’re Polaroid. An iconic brand, built by passionate people
Polaroid was founded in 1937 by one of the 20th century’s most influential innovators, Edwin Land, whose philosophy was: “Don’t undertake a project unless it is manifestly important and nearly impossible.”
In 2008, Polaroid produced its last pack of instant film. But a group of passionate fans refused to let instant photography disappear. What started as The Impossible Project grew into a mission to preserve and reinvent analogue photography for a new generation. More than a decade later, that same startup acquired the Polaroid brand and continues to shape its future today.
At Polaroid, we create products and experiences that spark emotion, fuel creativity, and bring people closer together. At the intersection of art and technology, we believe in the power of analogue moments and genuine human connection in an increasingly digital world.
Job summary
We’re looking for a junior designer (human) to join our in-house creative team in Amsterdam.
We're not looking for someone who already has all the answers. We're looking for someone with curiosity, good instincts, and a desire to make things well. Someone who gets excited by great design, pays attention to the details, and understands that craft lives in both the big idea and the final pixel.
You'll work across campaigns, product launches, retail, social, digital, and everything in between, helping bring the Polaroid brand to life through considered design.
This is a junior role, so there’ll be plenty of opportunities to learn and grow. What matters most is that you bring enthusiasm, a strong work ethic, and the beginnings of a creative POV. An appreciation for photography, culture, and the analog world wouldn't hurt, either (in fact, we’d prefer it).
What you'll do
-
Work alongside senior designer and art director to create and execute assets for campaigns across different channels
-
Translate key visual concepts into thoughtful executions across multiple touchpoints
-
Design communications across our direct-to-consumer channels, including email, web, and digital experiences
-
Adhere to brand guidelines while helping evolve our visual language with care
-
Move between projects big and small, from major launches to quick-turnaround requests
-
Bring references, ideas, and curiosity into the room
What we're looking for
-
1–3 years of experience as a designer, ideally in an agency, brand, or creative environment
-
Familiar with Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
-
A portfolio that demonstrates both design thinking and reliable executional skills
-
Someone who is obsessed with craft and sweats the details, bringing care and intention to everything they make
-
A curious designer at the sweet spot of being open to learn, and still having a point of view
-
A low-ego collaborator who enjoys working with other creative humans and take feedback without taking it personally
