SFC is operating from its R&D and manufacturing locations in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, and Almelo, the Netherlands.
As a Senior Strategic Buyer, you are responsible for defining, implementing, and governing the procurement and supply chain strategy within SFC Energy Netherlands. You act as a strategic partner to management and the local Supply Chain & Purchasing team, ensuring alignment between global objectives and local execution.
In this role, you coordinate the Strategic Buyer and Project Buyers, manage strategic supplier relationships, and drive continuous improvement in cost, quality, risk, and sustainability across the supply chain in an international environment.
In your role, you will:
- Translate group procurement strategies into effective local execution;
- Coordinate and support the Strategic Buyer and Project Buyer within the organization;
- Foster strong collaboration with international stakeholders and cross-functional teams;
- Develop and implement procurement and supply chain strategies aligned with business objectives;
- Define and maintain procurement standards, policies, and supplier selection criteria;
- Support supplier selection, negotiations, and long-term supplier relationship management;
- Monitor supplier performance through KPIs, evaluations, and corrective actions;
- Identify and drive supply chain improvement opportunities through data analysis and audits;
- Contribute to cost optimization, risk mitigation, quality improvement, and sustainability initiatives;
- Support the Operations Director in setting priorities, role clarity, and team development.
What should your background look like?
- You have a Bachelor’s or master’s degree in (technical)business administration or a similar field and completed NEVI 1;
- You have at least 5 years of experience in purchasing in a high-tech environment;
- You are knowledgeable about electronics or mechatronics; high power components are a plus;
- You have knowledge about procurement processes and understanding of internal processes and procedures;
- You are direct, proactive and hands-on;
- You have strong negotiation skills, can think strategically, have skills in risk assessment, decision making and leadership;
- You are fluent in Dutch and English.
