Our mission is to join forces and collaborate to efficiently deliver high impact studies. Headquartered in Utrecht, the Netherlands, Ecraid is the first network of its kind in Europe to offer a single point of access to a pan-European clinical research network for infectious diseases that spans over 1,250 clinical sites and 900 laboratories across 42 countries.
The Role
As the Business Development Manager at Ecraid, your primary responsibility will be to drive the expansion of our project sales. You will play a pivotal role in identifying new market opportunities by closely monitoring industry trends and developments. Your strategic mindset will guide the creation of expansion strategies, and you will liaise with both existing clients and potential new customers to build and strengthen relationships.
In addition to leading sales meetings and consultations, you will collaborate with colleagues to strategize and implement sales expansion initiatives for our existing customers. You will also work closely with the Marketing department to align business development strategies with marketing campaigns, ensuring a cohesive approach to market penetration and customer engagement.
Given that Ecraid is a relatively young organization, you will be instrumental in the professionalization of our business development department. This includes establishing processes, implementing IT systems, refining calculation models, and developing essential documentation.
You will serve as the key coordinator between Business Development activities and Operations, ensuring alignment and synergy across departments. In this role, you will report directly to our CEO, Prof. dr. Marc Bonten.
Key Responsibilities
- Expand project sales and identify new market opportunities.
- Develop and implement strategic business development plans.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and prospective clients.
- Lead sales meetings and collaborate on sales strategies.
- Professionalize the business development department by establishing robust processes and systems.
- Coordinate efforts between Business Development and Operations.
Requirements
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:
- A master’s degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Commercial Economics, or a related field.
- A minimum of seven years of relevant work experience in a similar role.
- Proven experience in a commercial context, particularly within clinical research projects.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit and engage customers for long-term collaborations.
- Excellent communication skills in English.

We offer a monthly gross salary of between € 4,677 and € 6,722 that commensurate with experience and based on a full-time 36-hour workweek.
