The European organization sells products and systems which are manufactured in Asia. It’s a very complex operation to make sure all the supply chain lines are working correctly. At the end of the day, the right products have to be at the right location at the right time. You make sure the rest of the organization can do their work.
Looking at this position from a distance, it all boils down to four critical steps. Planning, Executing, Monitoring and Controlling. You create forecasts to know what’s needed, after discussing with sales on future plans. Next step is to make sure the products actually are in the European organization. Inventory reports, order fulfillment and shipment monitoring are a daily matter of work. Monitoring and controlling to know what’s happening is a logical and critical step in all this.
All this is working via a certain way of work, which is working good but never perfect. We ask our colleagues to be observant for possible improvements every day. Because you’re working in the daily process, you know possible weaknesses or flaws. We believe in continuously improvement, so we become better every day.
