The full-time Bachelor International Social Work in collaboration with our full-time Master International Social Work is looking for new colleagues. About our bachelor program:
Our International Social Work bachelor degree at HAN teaches students how to connect with groups of people. Inspire them towards a better future. They learn to liaise with local and international contacts. Set up projects. Empower individuals and communities.
The first two years students have classes in theoretical approaches, skills & methods, creative skills, social work in practice and professional development. In the last two years students have 1,5 year online/hybrid classes in professional development and in body of knowledge and skills. In their last semester students do a participatory action research. These three semesters the students have internships in the field of social work. The other semester they do their minor.

What you will do
You will be teaching in the bachelor social work with a possibility to step in our master program in the future;
You will supervise a group of 40 students in pairs with a fellow lecturer or teach a class of 20 students by yourself;
You are expected to coach students according to our key concepts in our educational vision: an inquisitive attitude, cultural humility, activating people, working politically, thinking and acting creatively. This will enable students to deal with the complexity and uncertainty of everyday work in the social field;
You connect students' learning experiences in the field to the theory and personal development of the student;
In addition to teaching, you will guide students in their study career, in learning in the professional field and you are an assessor.
What we are looking for
You are able to captivate and inspire our aspiring social work professionals. You switch effortlessly between the roles of expert, coach and supervisor, tailored to the level and development of the student and the goals of education. You also have knowledge of and recent work experience within the field of Social Work, preferably in an international context.
You can disseminate your knowledge and experience, and translate it into content and design of education. You are stimulating, flexible and consistent and you have an affinity with creativity. You preferably have experience with or affinity with blended education. You can work well in a team, are supportive and cooperative in contact with your colleagues. You have at least a relevant, completed bachelor's and master’s degree. You also have extensive experience in working in the social domain and a broad vision on today's social work. You can use this experience and vision in the education that you provide.
We also require an excellent oral and written command of the English language (C1 level).

Depending on your experience, the gross monthly salary is a maximum of € 6.677,44 (cao-hbo scale 11) on a full-time basis (36 hours);

Useful background information
The School of Social Studies is one of the 12 academies within HAN University of Applied Sciences. Well over 4750 students are following a full, part-time or dual study in the social field at the academy.
We offer studies at bachelor's, associate's and master's level. This includes the bachelor programs (International) Social Work and Pedagogy and the master’s program International Social Work, Management in Healthcare and Management & Innovation in social organizations. The Academy employs over 430 staff members.
The bachelor of International Social Work started in September 2020 and focuses on the broad domain of care and welfare. The teaching methodology focuses on the student and promotes the student's independent learning. The students work on thematic teaching assignments for practice. The lecturers guide and coach the students in this and make the connection with the theoretical framework. In addition, the students build a broad and solid knowledge base. For this, lessons have been set up on theoretical approaches. Methodical and communication skills are also systematically trained. Finally, there are creative courses in which students develop in creative thinking and acting in the social work profession.
