The Opportunity
We’re looking for a (Junior) Specialist to join Prosus Risk & Audit, based at our Amsterdam (Zuidas) headquarters. In this role, you’ll execute assurance and risk projects across our portfolio companies — running risk assessments, controls testing, and gap remediation, and working closely with business process, IT, security, and risk teams at our clients. You’ll help local management find practical ways to manage risks and improve their processes, and
support the execution of the annual coverage plan. This is an ideal role for someone at the start of their audit career who wants to build real skills fast, in a lean team that moves quickly. As you build your experience, you’ll grow into more autonomy and responsibility — and your time here is a strong foundation for a broader role in the Prosus Group. The role includes up to 40% international travel and reports to the Director of Risk & Audit.
Who You Are
You have an entrepreneurial mindset and feel at home in a fast-moving tech environment. You’re tech-savvy, politically sensitive, and bring a can-do attitude to everything you do. You engage comfortably with process owners and management, and communicate clearly and concisely — no jargon, no fluff. You are a global citizen, comfortable traveling and navigating unfamiliar environments. You’re curious, eager to learn, and not afraid to ask questions. You understand that in audit, the details matter — and you’re the kind of person who gets that right. Your morals, ethics, and drive are solid. You hold yourself to a high standard and only sign off on work you’re genuinely proud of. You build relationships easily and your business English is outstanding — you can talk about risks, control gaps, and audit findings without hiding behind jargon, and anyone in the room always knows exactly what you mean.
What You Bring
- 0–3 years of experience. Fresh graduates with a relevant Master’s degree are welcome; any Big-4 experience is a strong plus.
- Master’s degree in accounting, business economics, finance, auditing and control, or a similar field.
- Ambition to work towards a professional certification such as CPA, CA, ACCA, CIA, CFE, CISA, or CISM.
- Familiarity with general IT controls and comfort working in a tech-driven environment.
- Clear, confident communication — able to engage with process owners and management and get your point across without hiding behind audit terminology.
- Outstanding written and spoken business English.
- Availability and willingness to travel internationally up to 40% of the time.
- AI-savvy and genuinely excited about what it can do — you actively explore new tools, bring ideas on how to apply them, and can’t wait to put them to work
Your Typical Day
You grab a coffee from our in-house barista and start the day reading up on the latest developments at one of our portfolio companies — staying close to the business is what keeps your work relevant. You spend the morning deep in fieldwork: interviewing process owners, testing controls, and documenting your findings clearly and precisely. You work on a section of an audit report, making sure it’s sharp, jargon-free, and plain English. Mid-morning, you align with the project lead on progress and flag anything that needs a decision. In the afternoon, you join an update meeting with local management — listening carefully, contributing where you can, and learning how to navigate a room. You close the day experimenting with an AI tool you’ve been exploring to find smarter ways to do your work. You’re at the start of something — and you’re moving fast.
