About the role
ING is implementing Broadridge as part of a critical regulatory reporting transformation programme spanning multiple regimes (EMIR, SFTR, MiFIR, CFTC). We are seeking a hands-on Test Lead to own and drive the end-to-end testing workstream. This role is delivery critical, highly visible, and operates at the intersection of IT, Operations, Compliance, vendors, and senior programme governance.
Responsibilities
-
Define and own the end-to-end test strategy (SIT, UAT, regression, cutover, go-live readiness), including entry/exit criteria, defect severity definitions, and escalation models.
-
Design and implement governance frameworks, including RACI matrices, decision flows, and escalation procedures to ensure clear ownership and accountability.
-
Ensure test coverage explicitly addresses regulatory reporting obligations (e.g. EMIR lifecycle events, UTIs, valuations, reconciliations) and validate data quality and completeness.
-
Plan and manage testing across multiple teams and locations, including external vendors, with clear risk-based reporting to programme stakeholders.
-
Manage test planning, progress tracking, defect triage, and drive resolution of critical defects based on regulatory and operational risk.
-
Lead go-live readiness assessments and cutover testing, support post-go-live validation, and ensure controlled handover to business-as-usual operations.
-
Work closely with Operations and Compliance to ensure regulatory sign-off readiness and capture lessons learned for continuous improvement.
Work environment
You will work at ING's Treasury Center (TRC) in Amsterdam, embedded within a cross-functional team spanning IT, Operations, Compliance, and external vendors. This is a hands-on delivery role requiring strong programme control, regulatory awareness, and stakeholder management. You will operate in a structured, governance-driven environment with high visibility to senior leadership.
Requirements
-
Proven experience as Test Lead on large-scale system implementations (6+ years).
-
Hands-on experience with financial markets, post-trade, or transaction reporting systems.
-
Strong understanding of regulatory-driven change (EMIR, MiFIR, SFTR) and trade lifecycle events.
-
Experience managing testing in vendor-led implementations (on-premise or SaaS).
-
Ability to translate regulatory and business requirements into concrete test scenarios.
-
Strong stakeholder management and confidence working with senior management.
-
Structured, assertive, delivery-focused mindset with strong communication and constructive challenge capabilities.
-
Experience with Broadridge transaction reporting platforms is highly desirable.
