As a passionate Geotechnical Earthquake Consultant, you will join a team of engineers based in Amersfoort or Delft who provide advice in the fields of maritime structures, hydraulic engineering, diverse infrastructure, airports, tunnels, dikes, land reclamations and buildings in the Netherlands and globally.
As Geotechnical Earthquake Consultant, you will work on projects ranging from impressive high-profile multidisciplinary projects to smaller projects requiring seismic specialist input. You might alternate between the roles of consultant, design leader or reviewer providing geotechnical seismic advice, supervise and educate teams with junior and med-level colleagues.
You will have challenging work in enthusiastic and diverse teams. You will contribute with your specialist knowledge to complex and diverse engineering projects, cooperating with colleagues across offices globally.

As a Senior Geotechnical Earthquake Consultant, you will join the Maritime Structures Design & Engineering team. This group is part of the Water & Maritime business line, which concentrates on maritime, climate resilience, and water technology markets.
You are a collaborative team player with strong communication skisll, capable of building effective relationships across diverse, international teams. You demonstrate a proactive mindset and a strong sense of ownership, taking initiative while remaining receptive to feedback and new perspectives. Your passionfor technical excellence, combined with a commitment to delivering practical, high-quality solutions, enables you to act as a trusted advisor to both clients and colleagues. Candidates are expected to meet the following minimum qualifications:
- MSc or PhD in Geo-Engineering (Geological or Geotechnical Engineering/Engineering Seismology) with graduation project (e.g., thesis) and/or courses specialized in Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering or Engineering Seismology;
- 5-15 years of experience (medior or senior);
- Good numerical skills (e.g., Plaxis) and affinity with digital developments (e.g., scripting, automation, AI);
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills (Dutch is desirable);
- A flexible attitude and willing to travel when required;
- Identified with our strategy ‘Enhancing Society Together’.
- The role is based in the Netherlands you must be currently residing in the Netherlands or willing to relocate.
