How do you make our customers happy?
At bol, over 47,000 commercial partners, from brands and resellers to agencies and suppliers, bring more than 35 million products to life for millions of customers. As part of Retailer 1, Retailer 1 is where bol itself sells products. You’ll design B2B tools, services, and experiences that help 1,000+ suppliers thrive and scale, while meeting the needs of 13.7 million customers.
The biggest challenge
Retailer 1 operates at the intersection of consumer trust and supplier growth. Behind the scenes, a complex software product connects assortment, pricing, compliance, and logistics at scale. Suppliers and internal teams have different goals and workflows but rely on the same core systems.
Your challenge is to turn this complexity into reliable, scalable journeys. You’ll connect fragmented tools and processes, design for both hands-on users and API-driven automation, and align commercial, logistical, and operational needs, while keeping the end customer promise central.
You’ll take an end-to-end view of the journey: mapping touchpoints across suppliers, internal teams, and systems; identifying friction; and focusing on the areas where design can have the biggest impact. Your work will drive revenue, improve supplier satisfaction, and strengthen bol’s customer proposition and long-term growth.
What you’ll do as a Senior Product Designer
You’ll report to the Product Design Manager as senior individual contributor and join a product group in Retailer 1 area, working closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Data teams, and fellow Product Designers.
As a Senior Product Designer, you bring sharp systems thinking and a strong discovery focus. You’ll lead research to uncover supplier and internal users needs and translate insights into scalable design solutions that work across diverse user segments. You’ll shape product OKRs alongside your Product Manager, challenging assumptions and advocating for solving the right problems in the most feasible way. With an entrepreneurial mindset, you’ll prototype rapidly, test with real partners, and iterate at speed, balancing craft with velocity to deliver measurable business results.
The different topics cut across multiple teams and technical systems. You’ll orchestrate alignment across stakeholders, facilitate trade-offs, and navigate organizational complexity while keeping partner value at the center. You understand the full ecosystem: how experiences translate from the supplier portal to API integrations and you design with this systems view. You’ll also actively contribute to our Design Community, elevating craft standards and championing user-centered thinking across the organization.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Lead user-research across the partner journey and deep-dive into your product teams experience to uncover high-impact opportunities
Shape product OKRs by challenging problem definitions and advocating for supplier and internal users needs that drive measurable business results
Design scalable systems and information architecture that work across diverse user segments
Orchestrate alignment across cross-functional teams and complex stakeholder landscapes, facilitating decisions that balance business goals with partner value
Prototype and test rapidly with an entrepreneurial mindset: ship experiments quickly, extract insights, and iterate at speed
Leverage AI and automation strategically to reduce friction while maintaining partner control and expertise
Translate complex operational workflows into elegant, efficient experiences that drive conversion, revenue, and platform adoption
Elevate design craft and champion user-centered thinking within the Design Community and across the organization
Why you can make a difference
You bring 7+ years of product design experience, and a portfolio that clearly demonstrates your ability to tackle complex design challenges for diverse user needs. Your expertise spans the full design toolkit: discovery, design thinking, prototyping, user research, A/B testing, and implementation.
You thrive in ambiguity and move with an entrepreneurial pace, whether from start-up experience or working on shipping products within larger organizations. You ask sharp questions that reframe problems, balance business impact with user value, and turn constraints into creative opportunities. Your systems thinking allows you to work between holistic strategy and detailed execution, while your stakeholder management skills help you drive alignment across teams and secure buy-in for bold ideas.
Most importantly, you combine strong craft with commercial instinct. You know when to ship fast to learn and when to invest in quality that compounds over time. You’re energized by complex challenges where your design decisions directly influence revenue, partner success, and platform growth.
