Role Description: As a Group Data Product Manager within the Trips Business Unit, you will lead the data product strategy and delivery across our key travel verticals, including Flights, Cars, Rides, Attractions, and Insurance. Instead of building standalone software, you will champion "data as a product," developing the foundational capabilities that enable teams across Booking.com to deliver cross vertical data products to underpin strategic priorities including Connected Trip and Marketing . Navigating an ambiguous, multi-faceted ecosystem, you will apply systems thinking to align data governance and architecture with meaningful business outcomes. In this high-impact role, you will bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders to orchestrate the ultimate connected trip experience.
Key Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Create and drive the long-term Data Product vision, strategy, and roadmaps across Trips verticals to enable highly personalised and relevant customer experiences.
Translate business strategies into specific objectives and KPIs, measuring the "data health" and success of your track while identifying opportunities for improvement.
Bridge the gap between engineering and business domains, advocating for the customer while justifying data architecture, technical solutions, and privacy compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
Resolve dependencies across complex data workflows, orchestrating cross-functional delivery in a fast-moving, high-scale environment.
Lead, inspire, and grow a team of Senior Product Managers, fostering a strong data product community and coaching them to maximize their impact.
Partner proactively with senior stakeholders up to the VP level, managing expectations and generating alignment across the wider Booking.com business.
Qualifications & Skills:
Proven relevant Product Management experience, including substantial expertise in Data Product Management and navigating complex data ecosystems at scale.
Proven experience managing, mentoring, and developing teams of Product Managers.
Advanced data fluency, including a strong working knowledge of data governance, compliance, modelling, and consumption layers.
Exceptional stakeholder management and storytelling capabilities, with the ability to influence cross-vertical teams and simplify complex messages.
High technical acumen with the ability to collaborate deeply with Principal Data Engineers and Architects to guide trade-off decisions and reduce technical duplication.
A strong bias towards action and pragmatism, capable of breaking down ambiguous business goals into clear, impactful short- and long-term plans.
Flexibility to regularly travel across our key hubs (e.g., Manchester, London, Amsterdam).
