The Laboratory Technician is part of the Phageguard R&D and Application teams and is involved in developing and the successful application of the Phageguard products. We are looking for an enthusiastic, hands-on and flexible new colleague who is interested in working in a microbiological laboratory environment, with focus on the research and application of bacteriophages. We are therefore looking for someone who has good lab skills, can work accurately and independently, is flexible, creative, and open to explore new research topics.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- You will conduct microbiological application experiments and analyse samples of existing and new bacteriophage products in bacterial culture assays, food models, and food products.
- You will plan experiments, write and develop protocols, and execute experiments in an organised way.
- You are precise with data, analytical, and result driven. You accurately document your experiments in laboratory journals and take pride in clearly and thoroughly analysing and reporting your work.
- Responsible for the preparation of the necessary laboratory media and other materials necessary to execute experiments.
- Organise and plan your own operational activities in the laboratory - Contribute to the maintenance and continuous improvement of procedures, techniques and equipment to support and improve laboratory activities and safety.
Background:
- HLO or HBO Food microbiology, Food technology, Microbiology, Virology or related fields.
- Specific knowledge and experience with microbiological and analytical techniques is desired.
- A good understanding of the English language is required (both verbal and written).
Skills and abilities:
- Eager to learn and apply new laboratory techniques.
- Able to design, plan and execute lab activities.
- You are a flexible, proactive team player with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities effectively.
- Willing to develop yourself and support the development of the organisation.
- Enjoys working with a team and contributing to a pleasant and dynamic environment
- Good communication and reporting skills (English)
