Role - International Commercial Lead EMS
Company - iwell - Harmonizing Clean Energy
Location - Utrecht (HQ)
About iwell
At iwell, we are all about reinforcing energy security. We help European businesses become more energy independent. With growing regulations, extreme price volatility and rising grid issues, they need to be resilient. It is time to take charge and think ahead. We deliver energy management solutions that ensure that businesses are always in control of their energy. Our in-house developed Energy Management System (EMS) and modular battery storage drive profit through sustainability, making businesses future-proof. We are a fast-growing international team of bold, talented individuals. From engineers and software developers to creative thinkers and customer-focused business developers. No matter what your strong suit is, we always are looking for people who are determined to make a positive impact.
The Role
Our EMS has been proven in the market alongside our integrated BESS offering. Now it's time to build an international standalone business unit with its own go-to-market and commercial model.
The foundation you will build has real ambition behind it. iwell is scaling across Europe and the standalone EMS is a key part of that growth. The goal is to realize recurring revenue with a standardized software product. You are writing the commercial playbook and will realize the targets.
This is a role for someone with a commercial drive and start-up mentality, who can build a strategy and go-to-market and then go execute it.
What you will do
-
Scaling the iwell EMS proposition across countries.
-
Define how we position and sell our standalone EMS to portfolio customers and organisations who need energy management as part of their total proposition: EPCs, e-truck manufacturers, CPOs, charging and BESS OEMs and similar players across Europe.
-
Create your own commercial strategy and build 3 to 4 scalable sales channels with large international organisations, resulting in recurring revenue.
-
Based on your learnings in the market, you develop compelling propositions tailored to how each type of channel partner sells to their own customers, translating complex energy challenges into clear commercial value.
-
Build a repeatable channel playbook from what you learn in the market, so the team can scale once the model is validated.
-
Work with an interdisciplinary team across countries, sales, business development, product and leadership to align on commercial direction and keep momentum going.
What we are looking for
-
A track record in international and complex B2B business development and sales. You have built channels and closed partnerships.
-
A relevant network in segments like energy integrators, fleet electrification, grid management, EPC or charging infrastructure.
-
Experience in the energy sector, cleantech or related SaaS environments.
-
Strategic thinking on go-to-market: you can design a commercial approach, not just execute someone else's.
-
You know what a SaaS product and organisation looks like. You can sell software and APIs credibly and think through the commercial logic behind them.
-
Comfortable shaping a proposition in conditions of ambiguity. Creating structure where it doesn't exist yet.
-
Pragmatic and solutions-first. You move quickly, think in scenarios and don't wait for the perfect brief.
-
A full-time availability (40 hours per week).
-
Someone who is happy to come into the office 3-4 days per week.
What we offer
-
For this role, we offer a variable pay on top of your monthly salary.
-
30 holidays per year, plus an annual company trip of 3 days.
-
The opportunity to do volunteer work, by offering 1 volunteer day per year.
-
Learning & Development budget of EUR 1,500 per year.
-
Attractive pension plan with Brand New Day.
-
Working remotely for 2 weeks per year.
-
We cover your travel costs, regardless of whether you come by bike, car, or public transport.
-
A mobile phone allowance of EUR 25 per month.
-
Additional activities such as a bootcamp, volleyball tournament, company drinks etc.
