Summary
The Fish & Seafood Associate at Esperamos Supermarket is responsible for ensuring the freshness, quality, and presentation of all fish and seafood products while providing excellent customer service. The role includes cleaning, preparing, packaging, and displaying seafood items in a safe, clean, and organized environment. The ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, and enjoys working with customers in a fast-paced team setting.
Key responsibilities
- Welcome and assist customers in a professional and friendly manner.
- Clean, fillet, prepare, and package various fish and seafood items.
- Ensure all products are fresh, properly labeled, and attractively displayed.
- Monitor product quality and rotate stock to maintain freshness and reduce waste.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the fish counter, display cases, and work area.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
- Operate equipment such as scales and slicers safely and efficiently.
- Provide customers with product recommendations and simple cooking tips.
- Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages.
- Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Department Supervisor.

Education & experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a seafood, deli, or food service department is an advantage but not required.
- On-the-job training will be provided.
- Must be able to stand for long periods and lift items
- Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
