As Project Manager, you are responsible for the successful planning, coordination, and execution of multidisciplinary projects within the water, offshore, and survey sectors. You support the commercial team during tender processes and take ownership of projects from handover through execution to final evaluation. By coordinating people, resources, equipment, and stakeholders, you ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Result Areas
Tender Support and Project Preparation
- Supporting the commercial team during tender and quotation processes;
- Ensuring a smooth transition from sales to project execution;
- Preparing project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource planning;
- Identifying project risks and defining appropriate mitigation measures.
Project Management and Coordination
- Leading projects from initiation through execution and completion;
- Coordinating multidisciplinary project teams and external stakeholders;
- Managing project budgets, planning, progress, and quality;
- Ensuring efficient deployment of equipment, software, logistics, and personnel.
Client and Stakeholder Management
- Acting as the primary point of contact for customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders;
- Maintaining strong customer relationships throughout the project lifecycle;
- Managing expectations and providing regular progress updates;
- Supporting commercial opportunities within ongoing projects.
Project Administration and Compliance
- Maintaining accurate project administration within Odoo (ERP);
- Monitoring budgets, project costs, hours, and reporting;
- Ensuring compliance with ISO, HSE, and quality procedures;
- Preparing and maintaining project documentation and risk assessments.
Continuous Improvement
- Evaluating completed projects and identifying lessons learned;
- Improving project processes, workflows, and collaboration;
- Supporting operational excellence and organisational development;
- Promoting a safe working environment and continuous improvement culture.
Responsibilities
- Delivering projects safely, on time, within budget, and according to agreed quality standards;
- Ensuring effective communication between customers, project teams, and management;
- Managing project risks and resolving operational challenges;
- Maintaining complete and accurate project documentation;
- Ensuring compliance with company procedures, legislation, and HSE requirements.
Job Requirements
Education and Knowledge
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (HBO/WO) in a technical, maritime, offshore, or related discipline;
- Knowledge of project management methodologies and project controls;
- Affinity with hydrographic, geophysical, hydrometric, or oceanographic surveying;
- Knowledge of quality, safety, and environmental management systems (ISO/HSE);
- Excellent command of both Dutch and English, written and spoken.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience within the maritime, offshore, survey, or water sector;
- Experience with tender processes, contract management, and multidisciplinary projects;
- Experience coordinating technical teams and external stakeholders;
- Experience working with ERP systems such as Odoo is considered an advantage.
