Join Dash0 and help us define the future of observability. We are OpenTelemetry-native, building a delightful, simple, and AI-centric platform that eliminates vendor lock-in and meaningless toil. Shape a product that developers love—all with transparent pricing and cost-control built in.
You'll join the Revenue Engineering team, which owns everything between a customer ingesting a byte of telemetry and an accurate invoice reaching their inbox. The scope is real infrastructure: metering pipelines, Stripe integrations, cloud marketplace connections, usage dashboards, and the alerting that surfaces billing anomalies before they become customer problems. These systems run at event scale and get harder as we grow — which is exactly when having the right engineer owning them matters most.
If you've owned a billing system before — thought carefully about metering correctness, navigated Stripe's webhook and subscription surface, dealt with reconciliation failures — this is a role where that experience compounds quickly. Within a year, you'll be the technical authority on revenue engineering, shaping the product roadmap and setting the architectural patterns others build on.
Own and evolve the metering pipeline — design, build, and harden the systems that count every billable event without drift, delay, or loss
Deepen the Stripe integration — extend subscription management, usage record reporting, invoice lifecycle handling, and edge-case recovery across the full API surface
Build and maintain cloud marketplace integrations — own the data flows between Dash0's billing core and AWS, Azure, and GCP marketplace entitlement systems
Ship customer-facing usage dashboards and cost forecasting — give customers full, real-time visibility into what they're spending and why
Improve billing alerting and notifications — surface anomalies, usage spikes, and budget thresholds before they escalate into customer complaints
Set architectural patterns — establish the design and testing standards others on the team build on, and drive reliability as a first-class product property
Mentor engineers on billing architecture — raise the technical bar across the team without being asked to, through code review, design discussions, and direct coaching
6+ years of backend engineering experience, with meaningful ownership of a production billing or metering system
Deep, hands-on Stripe experience — not just payments, but webhooks, usage records, subscription state machines, and reconciliation; you've debugged the hard edge cases
Strong Go or Java skills is a big plus; you write code others can maintain and you hold the same standard for your team
Experience designing distributed systems at scale — you understand the trade-offs and can reason through reliability, consistency, and failure modes clearly
A product mindset: you understand that billing systems directly affect what customers pay and how much they trust a product, and that context shapes every technical decision
Genuine staff-level ownership — you push back when something is wrong, identify systemic problems before they're raised, and make the people around you more capable
Experience with cloud marketplace billing on AWS Marketplace, Azure Marketplace, or GCP Marketplace
Familiarity with OpenTelemetry and the broader observability ecosystem
Background in usage-based or consumption pricing models at a SaaS company
Experience in a high-growth, venture-backed startup environment
