We’re looking for an International Tax Specialist to join our Finance team, reporting to the Head of Tax. This role supports the organisation’s day‑to‑day tax compliance and reporting activities in a complex, international environment.
The role has a strong focus on indirect tax (VAT) across multiple jurisdictions and involves transaction‑level review, return preparation, reconciliation, and documentation. Alongside this, the role provides exposure to direct tax compliance, supporting corporate tax obligations and international tax matters as required.
This role suits someone who enjoys detailed, structured work, values accuracy, and is comfortable working with regular reporting cycles and external advisers.
What You’ll Do
Indirect Tax & Transaction Support
You’ll support day‑to‑day VAT operations across more than 20 jurisdictions in Europe, including reviewing purchase orders and invoices for correct VAT treatment, preparing VAT returns, and reconciling VAT balances to the general ledger. You’ll help ensure compliance with local VAT rules, EU VAT directives, and intra‑EU transaction requirements.
Reporting & Compliance
You’ll support monthly, quarterly, and annual tax reporting, maintain clear and auditable documentation, and contribute to audit readiness. You’ll work closely with external tax advisers and respond to VAT and tax‑related queries.
Direct Tax Exposure
You’ll support the Head of Tax with corporate tax compliance, including preparation and review of computations and filings, and assist with international tax topics such as permanent establishments, transfer pricing support, and employee or mobility‑related tax matters.
Collaboration & Process Improvement
You’ll work closely with Finance Operations, Business Intelligence, Procurement, and operational teams to ensure correct tax treatment across systems and processes. You’ll also contribute to improving tax processes, documentation, and controls.
You May Be a Good Fit If You…
- Have experience working with VAT / indirect tax, including returns, transaction review, and reconciliation
- Have exposure to direct tax compliance, even if it hasn’t been your primary focus
- Are comfortable working with transaction‑based taxes and cross‑border activity
- Have experience working to monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles
- Have worked with external tax advisers or consultants
- Come from an accounting or finance background
- Are highly detail‑oriented and enjoy structured, accurate work
- Can explain tax matters clearly and practically to non‑tax colleagues.
- At least B1 Dutch is required for this role
Experience with Dutch tax, working across EU countries, or holding a chartered qualification (ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent) is a plus, but not essential.
