GTB Lab is a specialized circular construction research laboratory and one of the very few
organizations globally testing and applying Reversible Building Methodology
(RBM) through purpose-built digital tooling the RBIM platform. The lab's research integrates
reversible design theory with digital building passport frameworks, physical building
prototyping, and industry consortium implementation. We are seeking a
researcher with deep, applied expertise in the RBIM digital methodology specifically in the
circularity diagnosis, classification and analysis of building methods, material composition
and building and material reversibility including the quantitative calculation of reuse potential
and its environmental impact. What you will do: 1) Apply the RBIM protocol and tool
to model and assess building circularity and reversibility with associated reuse potential
of building materials. This process takes into consideration analyzes of functional
technical and physical dependencies between building materials within building and
product structure 2) Classify connections using the full RBIM connection typology matrix
from A1 to D4 3) Identify and evaluate intermediary elements determining whether
there are intermediary component between different functional groups of building materials
4) Develop assembly and disassembly sequence hierarchy and stapes 5) Calculate
reuse potential of building components and assemblies using RBIM methodology
integrating element condition assessment, connection reversibility classification,
end of life and modeling scenario into quantitative circularity outputs. Delivering
report including embodied mass and CO2 in materials as well as material and CO2
potential savings. 6) Contribute to GTB Lab research publications, technical reports,
and industry consortium deliverables. Master in architecture and higher degree
required. Good knowledge of REVIT software and circularity principles.
