As a Logistics and Facilities Officer, you will help to ensure a well-organised and safe working environment by efficiently managing and supporting materials, goods and support services both within and outside the High Containment Unit (HCU).
Your duties and responsibilities include as a Logistics and Facilities Officer:

carrying out logistical tasks, including the transport of goods and samples to and from the High Containment Unit, in accordance with applicable procedures and safety regulations;
-
carefully channelling materials and consumables in and out of the HCU, and correctly carrying out waste disposal within the HCU;
-
carrying out rinsing and sterilisation tasks and coordinating the logistics flow of these products within the HCU;
-
managing and organising the storage of goods within the designated areas;
-
identifying, proposing and following up on suggestions for improvements regarding work processes and working methods;
-
carrying out operational tasks and ensuring the order and cleanliness of the allocated areas;
-
replenishing and ensuring the availability of general consumables within the HCU;
-
managing materials and initiating repairs or replacements where necessary;
-
replenishing and managing clothing and other textiles for use in the work carried out within the HCU;
-
ensuring compliance with High Containment safety regulations when using and operating equipment;
-
actively keeping up to date with and complying with relevant (safety) rules and protocols within the HCU.
The work will (partly) take place in buildings for which an additional quarantine restriction applies after leaving (based on EU regulations). This means that it is not permitted to keep animals of the same species. Furthermore, for 72 hours after the work, it is not permitted to have contact with these animals or to visit poultry production facilities.

You will be working alongside a team of nine staff members, who carry out their duties both inside and outside the High Containment Unit.

The Facilities and Services Department is responsible for the (technical) security of the High Containment Unit (HCU), logistics, services, (technical) operations, and the implementation and monitoring of maintenance, refurbishment and/or innovation projects.
Services receives daily guidance from the Services Team Leader and is responsible for logistics, space management, laundry, washing and sterilisation, waste management and other support activities.

We offer, depending on your experience, a competitive gross salary of between € 2.749,- and € 3.399,- for a full-time working week of 36 hours, in accordance with the CLA Wageningen Research (scale 5). As for your contract, we initially offer a one-year contract that can be extended - if possible within (company) organizational circumstances - on good performance.
