Senior Data Engineer

Scantrust is currently looking for a Senior Data Engineer (based in Amsterdam) with the following scope
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and expand our existing data platform.
- Make architectural design decisions and communicate tradeoffs clearly with senior management.
- Continuously improve and maintain data ingestions & pipelines from internal and external systems.
- Collaborate with business and analytics teams to design insightful visualizations, define KPIs, and support ad-hoc analytical needs.
- Work with product and technical teams to gather requirements for data storage and processing architecture that can handle our growing needs.
- Prepare us for the age of agentic AI.
Experiences & Education
- 5+ years of data engineering experience, including migration projects
- 3+ years of SQL experience
- 3+ years of Python
- 3+ years of experience with a reporting system (Tableau, Looker, PowerBI, etc)
- Creating and maintaining operations and financial data pipelines
- Managing AWS cloud data services (Glue, DMS, Athena preferred)
- Setting up and managing a cloud data warehouse (Redshift preferred)
- Hands-on working with Airflow or an equivalent orchestrator in production (Dagster, Prefect)
- Solid understanding of data modelling: dimensional modelling, slowly changing dimensions, and event-sourced schemas
Other Desired Skills
- Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Process oriented with great documentation skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a keen sense of customer service
- Experience with AI tooling. (experience developing MCP servers or other AI connectors is a big plus)
