To strenghten our local BreedingTeam, we’re looking for a Breeding Assistant.
Role Description
Our offices are located in Gravenzande, The Netherlands, very close to The Hague and Rotterdam.
The Breeding Assistant supports both the Senior Breeder and Junior Breeder in all practical aspects of breeding activities. This role ensures the smooth execution of breeding operations by managing field activities, maintaining the inventory of breeding tools, and ensuring a high level of cross-functional communication with relevant departments.
Responsabilities
Technical & Operational Support
· Assist in all technical aspects required for the success of breeding programs, including field activities and other breeding processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant protocols.
· Maintain a strong connection with breeders to understand and effectively support their needs.
Warehouse Management
· Oversee warehouse operations, including seed extraction, packing, and shipment of R&D seeds.
· Track R&D seed inventory and ensure availability as needed.
· Monitor and maintain seed inventory in alignment with the needs of breeders and the department.
Equipment & Inventory Management
· Monitor stock levels of breeding equipment and consumables, requesting purchases as needed.
· Oversee the procurement of consumable breeding equipment and ensure its timely availability.
Communication & Coordination
· Align breeding needs with operational activities on a weekly basis.
· Facilitate cross-functional communication within the company to ensure seamless breeding operations.
Required skills
Languages: Dutch (fluent), English (conversational level preferred)
· Basic knowledge of plant breeding, seed handling, and agricultural practices is preferred.
· Willingness to work hands-on and availability to work independently
· Ability to work collaboratively with breeders, technicians, and operational teams.
· Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
