SILK Amsterdam is looking for a passionate and experienced Kitchen Chef with a strong foundation in Chinese cuisine to join our growing team.

About the Role
As a Kitchen Chef, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes while maintaining consistency, speed, and presentation. You will work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to deliver an exceptional dining experience for every guest.
Your Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook dishes according to SILK's recipes and quality standards.
- Demonstrate solid knowledge of Chinese cooking techniques, ingredients, and traditional flavors.
- Ensure all food is prepared safely and in compliance with HACCP regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of your workstation throughout service.
- Assist with mise en place and daily kitchen preparation.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages.
- Minimize food waste and follow proper storage procedures.
- Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining attention to detail.
- Support and collaborate with colleagues to create a positive kitchen environment.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 2 years of professional kitchen experience.
- Experience with Chinese cuisine is essential.
- Knowledge of wok cooking, steaming, roasting, and traditional Chinese preparation techniques.
- Experience with fresh ingredients, sauces, and Asian seasonings.
- Understanding of HACCP and food safety standards.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Good communication skills in English (Dutch is an advantage but not required).
