Job Description - HR Generalist, EMEA
Primary Location: Haarlem
Secondary Location: Amsterdam (requires at least 1 day per week, ideally Mondays for in-person team meetings)
Work Setup: Home working up to 2 days per week
Schedule: Full-time - 40 hours/week
Job Profile
As an HR Generalist you will be responsible for ensuring smooth HR operations throughout the EMEA region and, as the first point of contact for our employees, for answering and managing their HR related requests.
As the cornerstone of the HR department, you will partner with internal team members such as the HR Business Partner, the Benefits Specialist or Payroll Specialist, as well as with other departments throughout SMITH, and some of our external vendors in the various countries where we have entities, to execute the following responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Answer HR requests and questions from employees as their first point of contact;

Manage employee sick leaves and reintegration cases;

Track and report special leaves, such as maternity leave, parental leave, and UWV requests;

Inform employees of our various benefit programs, and Time-off & Leave plans;

Draft and maintain employee contracts, statements, and records;

Handle and coordinate our employee onboarding, and offboarding processes, by coordinating onboarding programs, as well as handling exit interviews;

Audit employee files in our HRIS (Workday);

Collaborate to provide Payroll with monthly HR input.
Requirements

2 - 4 years of experience in a previous HR role;

Strong understanding of Dutch labor law and the Wet Verbetering Poortwachter;

Experience with an HR Information System, Workday is a plus;

Fluency in English and Dutch is required, proficiency in other European languages is a plus;

Strong organizational skills, and an eye for detail as you will be handling sensitive and confidential information;

The ability to adapt to changing situations and find compliant solutions that work for both the business and the employee.
