We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to reinforce our R&D department. In this role you are the connecting link between various disciplines within the organization and responsible for all technical aspects during the hardware development process. You will work in a small and highly motivated team and work closely with internal engineers, external partners and customers.
Specific tasks and responsibilities include:
- Execution and coordination of feasibility studies and/or development of innovative integrated systems.
- Translating stakeholder requirements into high-level system requirements by consulting with various disciplines.
- Requirement management throughout the project life cycle.
- Preliminary and detailed design activities, including mission- and budget analyses.
- Technical management and coordination of the project team, including external project partners.
- Preparation of procurement documentation and support to manufacturing activities.
- Definition of the verification and test phase, hands-on test execution.
- Contributing to internal (systems engineering) process development.
Degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical or electrical engineering, or equivalent.- At least 5 years of experience in an engineering role
- At least 2 years of experience in a system engineer or product owner role for space systems
- Eligibility for security screening in the Netherlands and willingness to work on projects with a defense or security nature
- You are comfortable working on research projects with an open-ended goal
- You own the development approach for the projects you work on
- Excellent and straightforward communication skills
Recommended / Nice to Have:
- Experience in applying and tailoring ECSS and CCSDS standards
- Deep technical knowledge in a specific area: for example Thermal, RF Communications, Electronics, Radiation
- Practical experience of collaboration with Assembly Integration and Test (AIT) teams
- Experienced in and willing to contribute to proposals/tenders
