As a High Voltage Design Manager, you lead complex, multidisciplinary design processes for the construction and expansion of high voltage substations. You oversee technical quality, efficient processes, and a safe, feasible design.
With your coaching leadership style, you empower a large engineering team while directly contributing to the essential expansion of our electricity grid. You work from Rosmalen, a TMC office or a project location near you, and also have the option to work partly from home.
Your challenge
You work within a long-term collaboration with a major national grid operator. Projects range from new constructions to simultaneous expansion of multiple substations. You ensure structure, quality, and progress within the design process.
You establish efficient design processes, assemble a strong design team, and lead this team in a coaching capacity. While the client provides a basic design and requirement package, you ensure the optimal translation into a safe, feasible, and future-proof design.
What you will do

Validate the program of requirements together with the client.

Coach and inspire a design team of specialists (growing to ±40 engineers).

Define the design strategy and oversee the design process following the GOTIK methodology.

Ensure designs are feasible, implementable, and safe.

Facilitate smooth collaboration between disciplines, partners, and the client.

Identify and minimize safety risks through smart design choices.

Organize interface management between disciplines, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Identify improvement opportunities, such as automating repetitive tasks.

Within the design team, you oversee various design leaders and create an environment where people strengthen one another, engage in multidisciplinary collaboration, and foster innovation.
