Core Purpose
- The Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Inspection Competent Person is responsible for the daily inspection and maintenance of Rope Access equipment.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Support the Foreman in the day-to-day maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of rope access equipment.
- Conduct inspections of all rope access equipment and materials to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Coordinate the mobilisation and demobilisation of rope access equipment, materials, and containers.
- Ensure all inspections, testing, and repairs are carried out in accordance with industry standards, safety and quality requirements, and company procedures.
- Liaise and collaborate with subcontractors to ensure operational requirements are met.
- Provide support across other operational activities as required.
QHSE Responsibilities
To have a general understanding of the areas of our QHSE Management System and OEG’s QHSE aims and objectives that are relevant to the role.
Comply with the requirements of OEG Energy Group Policies and the responsibilities within the wider QHSE Management System.

Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Proficient in the use of relevant equipment, technologies, and industry best practices.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess data, equipment, and operational requirements.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to established procedures and guidelines.
- Encourages continuous improvement through creative thinking and innovation.
- Consistently delivers results while meeting customer expectations and service standards.
- Strong written communication skills, including the preparation of reports and operational documentation.
- Good proficiency in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
- Working knowledge of relevant industry software and systems.
- Good knowledge of relevant industry standards and legislation, with a strong commitment to compliance.
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant technical discipline.
- Possession of a valid SCC (VCA) certification in accordance with industry safety requirements.
