Junior Immigration Consultant
Contract: Full-time, 12 Month Fixed-Term Contract
Team: Netherlands Inbound
Location: Amsterdam
The role:
The Junior Immigration Consultant supports the business by delivering high-quality casework for major corporate clients while also providing operational and administrative support to the wider legal team. Initially, you will work on a series of highly templated immigration cases such as renewals, in-country processes, EEA registrations, and related applications, while managing client communications and case progression.
In addition to case processing, you will assist consultants and lawyers with case preparation, document management, client coordination, and matter administration. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to internal projects, process improvements, knowledge management initiatives, and the development of international client services.
Following a structured onboarding and training period, you will provide holiday coverage for Consultants within the team and gain exposure to a broader range of immigration matters and client projects. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work across multiple cultural contexts, build strong relationships with clients and colleagues, and contribute proactively to both client service delivery and operational excellence.
What your day will look like:
- Case processing and all associated requirements as delegated by the Manager, Senior Consultant and legal team
- Supporting consultants and lawyers with case preparation, document drafting, file management, research, and matter coordination
- Coordinating with clients and assignees to obtain required information and documentation and ensuring timely follow-up on outstanding items
- Assisting with the preparation of client briefings, presentations, training materials, and reporting
- Focuses on client service and meeting client deadlines. Understands client goals and legislative developments that may impact service delivery and incorporates these into processes and systems
- Ensuring that billing on cases is completed accurately and on time, including attending to bill rejections and voids
- Ensuring that case management systems are maintained accurately and reflect case progress in real time
- Raising case concerns with Senior Consultants and/or Managers at the earliest opportunity to avoid escalations
- Supporting practice development initiatives, knowledge-sharing activities, and internal projects across the team
- Identifying opportunities to improve workflows, processes, and the effective use of technology
- Working with Managers to update client protocols, handbooks, and internal guidance materials
- Supporting international client accounts and collaborating with colleagues across multiple jurisdictions

- An enthusiastic team player who works methodically and demonstrates strong attention to detail
- A strong commitment to excellent client service
- Self-starter with excellent communication skills and proficiency in English and Dutch
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders
- Strong administrative and project coordination skills
- Comfortable working with technology and learning new systems and processes
Preferred skills:
- Experience working in a legal, immigration, consulting, tax, mobility, or other professional services environment
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Law/Legal Services, Human Resources, Political Science, Business Administration, International Relations, or a related field
- Interest in process improvement, technology-enabled service delivery, or operational excellence
- Additional language skills, particularly Korean, Chinese, or Japanese , would be advantageous
