Roles and responsibilities:
- Supports the preparation of well designs and drilling programs under supervision;
- Assists with technical work, including offset well data analysis, and participates in discussions with geologists and geophysicists;
- Contributes to well engineering activities such as casing design, trajectory design, torque & drag and hydraulics calculations, drilling fluids selection and bit recommendations;
- Assists in ensuring procedures are technically valid and applicable to specific well conditions;
- Supports the purchasing of materials and services for projects;
- Assists in monitoring the daily progress of well operations and liaises with suppliers on technical programs;
- Supports the preparation of project reports and monitoring of operational expenditures;
- May assist with well operations in the field as part of the project team
- Observes all company Health, Safety, Security and Environmental instructions, acts in a safe manner and avoids unnecessary risks to personnel.
Location:
Base location is Hoogeveen, The Netherlands. Engineers can, in consultation, be assigned to a project in or outside The Netherlands.
Profile:
- BSc or MSc in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar;
- Graduate or recent graduate, or up to approximately 2 years of relevant experience in onshore and/or offshore drilling operations;
- Basic knowledge of drilling, workover and abandonment operations;
- Motivation to develop into an independent Well Engineer role;
- Good English oral and written communication skills;
- German oral and written communication skills are a plus;
- Familiarity with drilling equipment and well engineering software (e.g. Landmark) is a plus;
- Willing to live in The Netherlands.
